Olympia Shot Is Now Part Of JSB

Olympia Shot was founded in 1991 in Poland. The brand’s story began in 1991. In that year, a family business was founded in Ustroń, Poland, with a mission to deliver reliable airgun pellets to both the Polish market and beyond.

The value proposition was to deliver great pellets for beginners and amateurs. In other words, great plinking pellets.

That worked-out well and Olympia Shot pellets gained traction in multiple European countries. In addition, the company’s products have been distributed in the USA by Predator International – yes, the company that distributes JSB products.

However the connection between Olympia Shot and JSB became closer in 2024. In that year, Olympia Shot became part of JSB Match Diabolo a.s..

Since that time, all production has been relocated to the Czech Republic—bringing new opportunities while preserving the brand’s commitment to quality.

Yet, although the manufacturing facility has moved from Poland to the Czech republic, the distance between the two plants is really, really close. In fact, it’s only about 30 Miles!

New Olympia Shot production is manufactured using the existing company machines. These are not the same as the unique machines invented by Josef Schulz, JSB’s founder.

However updated dies are now being produced by JSB’s existing supplier under the strict tolerances of the new owners. In addition, JSB’s own specification of lead wire is being use for superior alloy consistency. This results in slightly softer products, but not quite as soft as for traditional JSB ammo.

All Olympia Shot pellets are subjected to strenuous quality checks at the Czech factory. In addition, all batches are tested for accuracy before shipment.

Czech production is ramping-up. It started with a limited range of wadcutters, domed and pointed pellets in .177 and .22 calibers. You can see these now on the new company website. This range will increase with time and Czech products will replace Polish on a stock-turnover basis.

In the USA, they will continue to be distributed by Predator International and available at Pyramyd, Airgun Depot and elsewhere.

I don't really know what to think about this yet. JSB has been experiencing a consistency problem in some of their pellet lines since covid and it doesn't appear that they are at the same level as before. Personally, I have some of the old pellets that shoot great, and I am speaking for all the shooters that I read about experiencing problems and switching to AEA and JTS. Plus, I have been having really good luck with their KO slugs. I just wonder whether they should have gotten their own "original" house back in order, before taking on another one. Many members have said on this, and other, forums that they were not going back to JSB. I would stop the current bleeding, before going after cosmetic surgery. It's the "optics" of it, I guess, that kind of bugs me but it does show confidence too. I really like JSB, and I am routing for them, I was hoping they would spend money and exert effort internally. I hope it works out.

I haven't tried the AEA ammo yet, but I have great results from the JTS that I've used in .22 &.25. I have been sliding more to wadcutters for pesting lately ,so I'll likely try some if they come available.

AEA ammo is incredible! Been using JSB for ages and once you try AEA you'll switch too. Now the problem is everyone else is switching to it and vendors are out of stock on the common sizes used as they sell out quickly. Great ammo!

While it's great to have other players in the game that can equal or even better JSB, for the moment, I still wonder if that's just because all of their equipment and dies are new. Time will tell on that.

From what I have read, from people testing the lead, JSB and Zan are still the purest. Maybe I am just reading into what I have already read because I am biased towards JSB and Zan. Could be, but their lead, to me, seems to leave the least deposits and cleans easier, than anything else that I have tried. And for the harder leads out there, I like H&N.

What remains to be seen is how long AEA and JTS are going to go before changing out old dies. If they do change out on a schedule such that quality never dips, well then that will be a game changer. I would think that whoever has the best policy towards die replacement would in the end, win. That time just before they deem it necessary to change them must produce a lot of tins of so-so pellets, that in the hands of vocal competitors and YouTubers could cost them more than the part. So what metric does the industry use? Is it shooters losing, group size from test guns, measuring, what? I'd like to know that.

It is a very competitive market, but unlike other products there is no wondering who is the best. The best shooters are only going to use the most accurate ammo to maintain their status, and if they wouldn't for some reason (like sponsership) then they don't win and are no longer the best shooter. A good reason to pay attention to match results.

I have long favored JSB Exact Diablo Exact .22 cal. 15.89gr pellets. I find them reasonably consistent shooting from my AA TX200 rifle. They're soft, so sometimes there's a bent skirt, but other than this , my experience with them has been positive, enough so that I just recieved another 12 tins of 500 pellets. After experimenting with competing pellets, I find the JSB Diabolos, at 15.89 gr. the most consistent for me. In other rifles, such as my HW97K, Benjamin Single Die .22 cal Diabolo's shoot the most accurately. I also find that the Benjamin's can shoot at longer distances with accuracy than my TX200. I could type all night about these things but my dear wife has been comenting lon some of my late nights. Ouch! Orv.

I don’t think I have even heard of these pellets before the JSB acquisition. Anyone have any experience shooting Olympia Shot pellets prior to the JSB acquisition?

I know that Olympia Shot pellets have been distributed in Europe, but I believe that this is their first time being sold here in the States. I know that JSB also manufacturers pellets under the names of Air Arms and Falcons. There are probably others that I can't think of just now. Orv.

My experience (.22 and .177) with JSB has shown a lot of deformed skirts in tins, so I prefer H and N for better quality control.

Crosman had the serious pellet market utterly and absolutely cornered when I warned them they "must keep the quality up is they want to remain on top". Of course they didn't.

Now JSB seems to be letting their quality slip, also. That now being common-knowledge, in my opinion the Olympia acquisition could avoid JSB losing their place of dominance if it means JSB pellets return to their previous level of quality/CONSISTENCY.

But what do I know?

It looks as if perhaps Olympia Shot is using the seconds, or dregs of JSB's product. Thats OK, as long as Olympia Shot is being marketed as such. I could even purchase some for casual plinking. These Olympia pellets appear to have much thicker skirts than JSB pellets. Orv.

I can't imagine SOMEONE not getting fired for that picture making it to the public.
