250Z New 250z, pellet feeding issue

I received my new 250z yesterday, have not had a chance to shoot it yet, waiting on compressor.
I happened to see a post about pellet feeding issue. So I tried various pellets with single shot tray.
They will not feed, it deforms them and tilts them before entering the breech.
Upon inspection it appears the tray does not lineup correctly.
I tried loading the pellets into the magazine and it works much better, not perfect but better.

Just wondering if anyone else had this issue and what was the fix. Also should I be concerned that my gun
was completely empty on arrival?

Thanks for the help, this is my first PCP, still on the fence about it

Attaching a few pics for reference. Pellets feed tray on the left, magazine on right.
Also including a pic of the alignment of the single shot tray. It is not centered, nothing keeping it from it.

If your compressor isn't going to arrive for a while anyway, contact Barra and get another gun. If you don't want to do that you might miss your chance at an easy early return. If that doesn't bother you, my advice, is to go over all the functions of the gun first, as much as you are comfortable with. Check that the stock works and adjusts. Check all the screws that you can reach, safety function. Clean the barrel and push a pellet down it to check for conformity and tight or lose spots. Once you get your Air supply, air down the gun and turn your regulator all the way down like Barra does on their instructional YouTube video. Fill your gun and check the Guage on your fill supply to your gun to know how different they are. Like on that video I mentioned, turn up your regulator slowly and leave it somewhere like 2000psi to start. Leave it all alone for a couple of days to make sure nothing leaks. Now, as for the feed issue with the pellets, you already know about that, so don't use a magazine. Try to shoot a group of a good diabolo pellet, weighing between 18-25gr, if it's a .22, at 25 to 50y. Don't shoot those pointed ones in your pictures, they never shoot as well. If your barrel can't shoot a good pellet in less than an inch and a half at 50y, and you know that you can shoot that well, then I would say that you got a bad barrel too. A good barrel will shoot it's favorite pellet into one big hole at this range, if it opens up past an inch and a half, that is usually not a quality ammo problem, but a barrel one. Now, reassess, and figure out if you are a tinkerer and want to try to fix that magazine issue, or just try returning the gun. Good luck going forward, it's surprising how much comes down to that.

Thank you Pumacarl for the advice. I have other pellets to try as well I just grabbed 4 different types that I had on hand. The compressor is supposed to be here today, I will try to get the issues sorted and do some range time and see how the barrel performs. Fortunately Barra is less than 1 hour from me and getting a replacement gun should be pretty quick. I went through the gun and all that I can tell is good. The stock works fine, I had to put a small piece of tape on the tube to keep it from rattling. But other wise the only real issue so far is the single shot tray feed issue. I am looking forward to trying this out as my first PCP gun.

I'm going to make a blanket statement here, and I pretty much will stand by it, to really test your accuracy and maximize your enjoyment of the hobby, shoot either JSB, AEA, or JTS, pellets 18 to 25gr, this weight range has a much better b.c. and stretches the capabilities of the gun way further than using lighter or cheaper pellets. The good pellets are worth it, a bargain pellet isn't a bargain if it doesn't shoot half as well or as far. If you are going to shoot slugs, well that's a whole other animal and there are many threads on this forum to read on all of our experiences. No need to even try to mention all that yet until you get everything else sorted out. Everything I have said is under the assumption that since you bought a very long 45fpe .22, and not a short 25fpe one, that you actually do want to use it's power and range and not turn it down. If you do want to do that, nevermind. lol

Maple make a great single shot mag that flip open to the right or left side and doesn't allow them to slide back into the breech jamming your gun like the factory mag does.. It is easy enough to fix but you need to remove the stock.. That looks like a defective magazine to me.. Did you try the ten shot?..

This is the first I've heard of a pellet feeding problem on a 250z. Mine in 22 cycles nicely and has shot at least a thousand rounds with no problems. Just exchange for a replacement is the best option, at least thats what i would do.

The mags work pretty good, not perfect. The single shot tray, wont feed any pellet I have without deforming the pellet. If you look at the last pick of my cleaning rod on the shot tray, you can see the groove is way off center. It seems to be also to low. I 3d printed a shot tray with an offset, and a little thicker to raise it. That helped a lot, I am not sure if something is catching it just as it enters. I tried looking with a mirror, cant see anything. I am also having a regulator issue. My gun came with reg pressure at 2500 psi. I tried to lower it and it wont go any lower. I will probably send it back. And it is leaking as well. I have not had a chance to shoot it yet, to see about accuracy. Hoping for some good weather soon.

Remember you need to degas to lower.. I would exchange it..
I did de-gas, and tried 3 times to get it to work. I took the stock off to see if I could find the leaks, possibly around the regulator or the gauges using soapy water and a paint brush. I noticed the regulator, looked like the tool slipped and kind of rounded off the outer edge. Made me think someone was having an issue with the regulator. I really like the feel of the gun and the single barrel. I think I just got the proverbial lemon. It happens, I am sure Barra will make it right. I am hoping to actually get to shoot it soon. On a positive note, the compressor works awesome.

I've been using the mags from QD Fox on Ebay and they work great in my 22 250Z. He has the best prices as well. You get 2 mags per order when you order one which is awesome. Just received 2 FX mags 15 shot each for 40 bucks! Let him know Steve G sent you in the comments.

Im ordering 6 in different colors. 2 for plinkers, 2 for hunt pellets, and 2 for hopefully slugs. Apparently the home lives just south of me, which is pretty freaking cool. I bet he's got an awesome set up to bang em out.

Took mine to the range this morning to test some slugs. Had problems setting up on the bench because of it's size. While trying to find a slug that worked, I noticed the speed was decreasing way more than it should. All of a sudden, I couldn't close the bolt. When I did get it closed, it would only click and not fire.
Wound up double feeding by accident, I bought in home and removed the stock to see if I had broken another trigger. Found a Slug wedges in the trigger.
Worked it out, and the gun would now fire again. Read some where, that pellets could fall in the rear of the loading tray. I had tried a magazine just before switching back to the single shot loading tray. Upon checking the Hammer spring adjustment, I found that it was no long flush with the rear of the action. It has moved all the way out the the stop in the stock. Cleaned it up and applied a drop of Blue Lock tight to give it some stability. Now to see it it will stay put.
So that totals three problems I'm now having to deal with. Hope I can get these under control.

Hey man, tip with the hs backing out on you, strip that locktite 2 wraps of teflon tape instead. It snugs it up, but still gives you all the adjustability you want.

Hope it helps!
