There are a couple guys now still having trouble.Anyone heard anything yet ? I have 2 barrel now and neither are acceptable..
Keep on them. I shoot very few slugs, so glad I haven't had that problem.
Good luck

Dude, please explain what a plenum mod is, how do we put that on one of these, and where in the world can we get one. In the world of taking out rats on the dairy farm, 50 rats on a fill in one night would be so great. It’s a really good product and a lot of us really love it.
Besides the quality control issues I don’t think the rest of us have many complaints. The trigger isn’t great but really it’s the stock that’s the weakest part. Looks cool but very flimsy. Also for the next gen add a bigger plenum do we don’t have to make them please haha. With the plenum mod I’m at 45cc of plenum and I really can’t wait emphasize enough how much better the shooting experience is with that. I can keep the gun at 55fpe and get 50+ shots a fill. Or I can put the reg at 2500psi and get 70fpe like now… but it’s an effortless 70fpe with almost no preload on the hammer spring. So the gun cocks easy, has zero barrel flip and is still whisper quiet. Shooting a dove at 70-80yards feels like like clicking a mouse… except instead of opening an application I’m shutting an invasive species down permanently![]()
Well I attached some pictures so you can see what it looks like. I’m getting 45-50 shots at 60-65fpe! If you left the reg at like 1900 or 2000psi you could probably get 60-70 shooting pellets at about 50-55fpe.Dude, please explain what a plenum mod is, how do we put that on one of these, and where in the world can we get one. I replaced the stock, grip and and place a trigger kit. Is a laser now for 500 bucks not bad.Jake, TY you for that frank explanation. I own one of your 250z's and when I initially received it, I patched it as well as scoping it. I have to say I didn't have high expectations afterwards. However, after putting it on target I have NO complaints about its accuracy; it is a tack driver. My main concern was how often it might require cleaning from what I saw initially. I haven't reached that point yet, but I can attest that the rifle is more accurate than I am. It hits where it is pointed. I hate the trigger and you really need to do something about that; it's horrible. That and the butt stock. You fix that and you will be on the way to an excellent rifle. Again, TY.
Oh man. Im mainly going to pellet tune for pigeons and rats, and that makes sense. 50 fpe should smoke them like nobody's business and help clean things up around the farm.Well I attached some pictures so you can see what it looks like. The quick and dirty explanation is that the plenum is the space after the regulator and before the valve that stores the regulated air. This is the air that is available per shot… think of the air in it as the “powder” and the plenum itself is like the casing.
A very simplified explanation is that a bigger plenum means more power per psi. You’re just trading psi for volume. Because higher pressures use so much air a plenum can be used to make big power. Which is why my barra will make 80FPE+ but that kills the shot count…OR a plenum can make you way more efficient. In this case the plenum lets me drop the reg pressure about 500-600psi to achieve the same power.
I think the price is $135 for the plenum. Personally I think it’s worth it because with a little elbow grease this gun will outshoot guns twice or even three times the price.Oh man. Yote season, I think I might go the .30 cal route, or tune for slugs. I need a easier bird buster, than a swarm magnum. Picked up the .25 one for a quicker dispatch, things great, buuuuut, when there's 4 rats in the loft corner hissing they tend to scatter pretty dang quick once they start getting dropped.
NEBeast helped me settle on this as being a great budget pest getter.
Ill rummage through the posts to see what this plenum is going to set me back. Until then, man, Im sighting in the scope in the morning, and going to start putting this to work.
Ill definitely have to pick up a chronograph to dial it to where it needs to be later on. Im hoping the v2 is as friendly to tinker on as clearly the v1 is. I'll be finding out.
Thanks a million yall!
Man, I've ran through 2 tins of the h&n 30.86 g barracuda pellets in .25. This thing is sweet out the box compared to my break barrel.I think the price is $135 for the plenum. Yeah results are the only thing that matter. Let’s hold the praise until results are producedWell Barra still does not has sent anyone that has bad barrel replacements yet, that I know of.. I have 2 barrels that are not acceptable.. Still no word from Barra.. crickets....
So happy to hear that you’re loving it! You don’t regret it. Don’t be afraid to spam us with questions if you have any!Man, I've ran through 2 tins of the h&n 30.86 g barracuda pellets in .25. This thing is sweet out the box compared to my break barrel.
My first investment though, is going to be a compressor. Pumping, yeah, nah, but the accuracy at 25 yards, man I'm tickled.
This is going to for sure get some "adjustments" with a bit of time.
I was leery of it being a v2 of the 250 z, but this air rifle certainly seems to be very tinkerable!
I appreciate it my man!So happy to hear that you’re loving it! You don’t regret it. Don’t be afraid to spam us with questions if you have any!
