The range of Longshot Target Cameras is now becoming available at Airgun Depot. These sound like a great addition for the long-range airgun shooter and benchrest competitor. Ideal for practice for the Pyramyd Cup!
Longshot systems are designed to provide an easy way to see and record your shooting accuracy at significant distances. They link to your phone or tablet for display at the bench, allowing you to see your downrange impacts in real time.
There’s a LongshotHD app for both Android and iOS that can be downloaded for free. Longshot explains that this app transforms your phone or tablet into a live feed monitor when used with their wireless cameras.
This means you can instantly view your shots and make adjustments without interrupting your shooting flow.
Operation is simple. For most of the Longshot target camera systems, you set-up a wireless, portable, and battery-powered target camera module adjacent to your target and about 10-15 Feet back.
The Longshot camera can be moved within that range to adjust the field of view. Since the long-range wireless camera is positioned downrange by the target, any observation issues resulting from mirage effects are eliminated.
The app enables you to display, track and number shots, save photos, review sessions, record video, and stills. It also includes some really useful features, such as being able to mark the shots with colored shot markers. This allows marking the hole by color and also the order in which that each shot struck the target.
The app can also display “before” and “after” views of the target in a blinking fashion so the new hole in the target turns on and off like a turn signal blinker. This makes it easier to identify the position of the new hole on the screen. (Well, assuming you hit the target, that is!).
In addition, you’ll have live HD video recording capability, to play back later for sharing, education and entertainment.
Another member of the family is Longshot spotting scope camera. This can provide similar functionality using an existing spotting scope.
The Longshot range includes models with “up to 100 Yards”, “up to 300 Yards” and “up to 1,000 Yard” capabilities. So – whatever distance you shoot at – Longshot Target Cameras have a model for you.
Prices start at $199.99.
