Okay, getting a bit lacking in memory, but I think I read where some company is or has come out with an air gun scope that has a less cluttered reticle. I meant to make a note of that article but must have failed to do so. Think I read it here on Hard Air Magazine. Thanks.

There are many different scopes with a mill dot or similar reticle. Have a price point? If you look at scopes on pyramyds site many have a pic of the reticle in their description.

I tried to help you out and search here in the community and on HAM magazine site, it must be buried in a thread.

I have three mil dot scopes (2) UTG 4-16 X44 and a Hawke Vantage 3-9 X40. Between the two of them, I prefer the UTG because of its thicker reticle, helps me make faster hold over/under with fewer errors.

Optics planet also has some explanations.

Hey, Pepper, 😊

⭐ I think I have a solution for you.

You're looking for scopes that don't have a gridded reticle.
But a holdoff reticle — meaning one that has mildots or hash marks on the vertical and horizontal crossed lines.

And you probably want a 10y parallax.

➠ So, let me know what magnification range you're thinking — 3 groups to choose from:

(A) 6-24x | 5-25x | 4-24x | 5-30x | 4-32x | 4-20x

(B) 4-16x | 3-18x | 3-15x | 4-20x

(C)
3-12x | 3-9x | 2-12x | 1-10x | and short scopes and wide FoV scopes

Matthias,
Group B, 10y parallax. You have my attention.
Thanks,
Ralph

Here you go — a Scope Specs Table for 4-16x, 3-18x, 4-20x, and similar.

Please, don't be put off by the introduction — it's not required reading, but it's there for someone who wants to read about the importance of different features of scopes, and understand the Spec Tables's columns better.

You can skip right to the Table, where you find close to 100 scopes and their specs.

➠ Based on your request for an uncluttered reticle, go to the 16th colum, titled: "Enough Dots, No's, Grid, CD"

➠ There, you can discard quickly all the scopes that have reticles that are marked with "Grid"
(sometimes, a certain scope model comes with different reticles).

Have fun scope shopping! 😊

Matthias

Wow, a mountain of information. Sure to make my head spin. Thank you for all this.

One of my favorite scopes is the Sightron S-TAC with the MOA reticle. Non-Chinese with super optics, reticle and turrets. If you are a veteran with a DD-214 or an LEO, Sightron offers a 20 percent discount. This picture doesn't do it justice.
