Been struggling with inconsistent fps looking like an air leak. Started to take things apart and thought my pellet probe looked unusual - not the same design as the Stormrider I used to own anyway. Then looked at some on line and most had a pin but some did not. $50 on ebay from Paul, Wes is out of stock on the 22’s. With pin or no pin? Thanks.

I believe all factory guns do not come with the extended pin probe that's why Paul offers them for sale. I tried to order a 30 caliber from him a few weeks ago and he was out of them. It was all through ebay text so he didn't respond to when he would have some more made up. Paul's has better airflow on the pin as its bored out larger for a tune with higher velocities.

Thanks. After looking at it more closely it really didn’t look broken. Thought I found the culprit but no such luck. I did something different in my tuning attempt and that was boosting the reg pressure - up but never down which is allowable I think. O ring looked good when I took the air tube off. Will need to look at more videos before going deeper.

So with the probe version with the pin you get increased speeds? I've seen different pcps go that route to give a slight power boost!

Thanks for uour input. Paul offered to fix me up if I sent him the gun and bought his parts. I told him that would be like driving a Ferrari to the grocery store the way I shoot. Never had the hammer out of this gun, would need to check a video or two. Did I mention I'm mechanically challenged - I can follow along with videos usually getting a good result. More speculation but possibly a poppet valve? Wes doesn’t have one but Maple does for $30 plus they put out a great install video. Not that expensive and I can do it. A reasonable approach? Btw - Wes shows o rings kits in stock.

I got the maple poppet for mine and if your mechanically challenged there's a lot of bolts to remove to get to it. It's not hard but you have to remember where all the bolts go back, right length etc. I enjoy working on things and its no big deal for me. Once you get it all apart and unscrew the poppet holder which Paul sends a cut washer that fits over the poppet stem so it's easy to unscrew. Then pull out the spring and poppet and replace with the new one and reassemble and You're done. Took me about an hour as im old and slow! Just take your time and it's easy.

Been wracking my brain to come up with something I could use to unscrew the top. Leave it to Paul. Maple has a great video showing every step so I think will follow that. Wes has one that he will send along with an o-ring kit. Says we should gave gotten one with the gun. Maybe that’s a snowpeak perk. I will go to work on my washer. Removed the trigger assembly so easy access. Thanks for your comments.

You are welcome! Hopefully i was some help. Have fun!

Make sure your hammer slides easily. If the hammer strikes the valve stem differently it will make the FPS vary.
Figred

Figured out what to meant - not the problem. New poppet coming from Wes if they can get it over the border. Thanks.

Who is Paul?
Do you have a link?
Thanks
Sorry don't have a link but he goes by pau.dambe on eBay. He also has a drilling jig to open the transfer port as well as an fx barrel kit. Check out Paul's urban hunter on utube. Another one on eBay is c88 machining, makes nice custom parts for the zelos and notos
