I hear that! On any given day people say that I look/act young for my age, yet on some days when my back goes out, I can't even move. You just have to thread that needle and don't do anything too fast, and all is good. I was trying to get my oldest brother to shoot 3-gun with me when he was the same age as I am now, and now I know why he didn't want to.If I could get up and down for field target, I would still be competing in the sport. The honeymoon is over I guess. Today I had to shoot five purge shots before my gun was back to normal. That really bugs me. I wonder if I would have noticed it as much on the target if I wasn't running a chronograph? If I can overlook the problem, the gun really does shoot like a laser beam after the initial purge. I went two or three months without needing purge shots at all, and 0 reg creep, is that the service interval? I guess competitors wouldn't care, but I also shot my AAA Paradigm today for the first time in months, and guess what, first shot perfect. My Gen1 Gauntlet was first shot perfect too! And I hadn't fired that in months either.
It is a blast to shoot something as easily accurate as this gun is, once it's up to speed, though. It's not going to be a lamp any time soon. It seems that even pro shooters like Gerhard just blows off having to do the purge shots as part of the business, so maybe I shouldn't care either. Maybe I just need to practice tolerance instead of maintenance, lol.

At RMAC FX told a sponsored shooter trying one of their rifles that you have to shoot purge shots. I'll find the video where he states it, if I can.

I saw an earlier post where you mention the size of the fx reg. I agree it’s surprising how small it is. I much prefer bigger regs as they are much easier to deal with when it’s rebuild time. Those tiny orings can be a bugger and don’t even get me started on the one down in the gun body 
. The main reason I have no more fx guns. They shoot so awesome though.

In one of Gerhards videos he just blatantly tells everyone that this is the key to shooting FX guns. It's just what you do. I was shocked that he was so happy about it. He just seeemed to think that it was an easy solution I guess. He's probably right, but it drives me nuts.

Take a look at minute 6 of this video if Noor at RMAC. He mentions FX telling him that purging is a necessity. Personally that is one thing that I’m not too pleased about with my FX. With a 300cc bottle the shot count is already small and having to take several purge shots makes shooting a card a pain. This post is more for people looking for more info on the need to purge.

What's weird though is that I had a couple of months that I absolutely did not need to do it.
Doesn't that imply that there is a fix for FX ffs?
I think the next time I have my reg out it is going to get 90 duro orings. I haven't heard of anyone trying that.

Expanding on what I said above, thinking about it, there are 3 orings in there. If they all don't deal with the pressure equally, putting a harder oring first to take the most abuse would definately be the thing to try first, not, all at once. Again, I have not come across anyone else doing this.

I’ll haft to check mine out. I don’t think I’ve ever purged mine. Just get it done and shoot it. Need a better chronograph but I just shoot mine. Ive rebuilt mine with new Orings and keep on top of it. Have blown the reg Orings out a couple times when I push it to 200 bar for the mod testing to see what the max I can get out of it. Took to 225 one time after talking to Ernest Rowe but I don’t like running it that high! Where I got 270 ft lbs. but for testing only! 170-200 is where I shoot the 30 and 140-160 for the 25. Don’t like to have to refill after 10 or so shots. The plenum will handle 225 bar max but I really wouldn’t advise it! At that pressure stuff will fatigue over time and I don’t like replacing what I enjoy. I went there once and that’s will do for me. Got my answers what it is capable of without machining a larger valve into it. I still think the valve could have been 50 percent larger and less pressure to achieve the same results. Powermonger
