PCP HW110 reject finds new home (one door closes and another opens)

Recently I posted on here about my problems with a new Daystate Revere. It was a good gun but the drop of the the stock did not work out for me and Airguns of Az refunded my money without hassle. Having 'Gun Fever' I looked around and saw a listing on eBay for a Weihrauch 110 in .177cal. The seller said he was getting rid on all things in .177 and had bought a .30 cal air gun. He also said he did not like the magazine system on the 110 and didn't think I would either. He had all the papers and original box. I appreciated his honesty and bought the gun. I am glad that I did. See below 50 yard targets.
1st Target: 5 shots 50 yds, JSB 10.63gr, 2nd Target 10 shots 50yds, Crosman 7.9 gr.

I traded my 110 carbine for a huntsman. I still have a tinge of regret about it.

I like the Daystate (and in my case it’s been a far more reliable gun), but I miss the way the 110 shouldered and that amazing trigger!

Thx, I was just the opposite I switched from Huntsman Revere to HW110. Both are quality guns.

Glad you like it, I have always thought that the Weihrauch PCP’s never got the following they deserved in the USA. Always been impressed that those models could produce enough power to be useful in the states while originally designed for 6 ft/lbs in Germany and 12 ft/lbs in England.

I agree. I just can’t help buit what is the purpose of 6 ft pounds? Especially at that price.

7.5 Joules - approximately 6 Ft/Lbs is the legal limit for unlicensed airguns in Germany.

Sometimes we don't realize how lucky we are in this country. I know they hunt deer in Germany. My accross the street neighbor is German said they hunt in the agricultural areas. About 20 years ago I went by train from Warnermunde (sp) to Berlin by train. I saw a lot of deer stands located in the agricultural fields. I guarantee you they didn't shoot deer with a 6 ft pd air rifile. I does not make sense. But, that being said, there is a group of people in this country that would impose the same or even more restrictions if they had their way.

I agree! They are solid, well-built, and IMO good-looking air guns. The USA market seems to value power, adjustability, and modularity.

The “set it and forget it” mid power pcps (HW 100/110, AA500/510, M-Rods) seem to have faded from the spotlight. Maybe the pendulum will swing back? Or maybe I watch too much YouTube. Haha

I think 'set it and forget it' is still popular, but not at low power, which is what formerly mid power pcps are now. These days a .177 better be able to do 20fpe, a .22 around 32fpe, and a .25 some where north of 50fpe, or they won't sell. Actually, .22, because of all the PRS/NRL shooting has edged up from this to old .25 energy numbers now.

Anyways, HW's are great guns, whatever power they're running at.

I agree w/ you. I have a few "set & forget" guns in that power range. I always know where I'm at & less to go bad. Simple facts, more moving parts, more to go out of sync. I can adjust hammer spring for more or less if needed for
indoors or ammo testing , but usually once done the tune stays.

So the german 6ftlb rule is what you can buy WITHOUT a gun license. They can get a firearm for hunting but that (like in Britian) is a huge hassle. Up in Canada we can buy and shoot 'up to' to 495fps without a license. You can literally buy a 2k .25cal pcp and only shoot it to 495fps. Silly to me. On that note, I have taken hundreds of sparrows and a few rabbits eating our garden with my 2 sub-6 fpe .177 guns! Just don't expect much beyond 25Y.
