Have I told you lately that I love you my little HW30? AKA, Sweetness.

For the past 2 weeks I have been shooting my HW30NSE exclusively after changing out 4x scope to Red Dot sight. As I have stated before I use this little gun to shoot offhand. I could not be more pleased. I shoot off the right shoulder so when I mount it I raise my right arm and elbow parallel to the ground creating a perfect shoulder pocket, (same as you would with a shotgun) and when I weld my cheek to the comb my eye is in perfect alignment with the red dot sight. My left hand extends to the end of the forend where it cradles, (not choke) the guns forend, I know people, me included, that paid thousands of dollars to have a shotgun fitted to them, and she is a box stock gun and fits me perfectly. Her call name is Sweetness.

I've went back to the red dot. Just crazy fun.

See that Glare on the Williams FP peep sight.
Doesn't matter where I am indoors or out that Glare.
Cloudy days are great. Not sure how I dull that down. Any Ideas?
It's been good learning how to shoot all the different front site reticles with the peep. It's a solid option.

Sight black. Used it all the time when bullseye shooting. I think Birchwood Casey makes it if I recall. It's a spray on sort of product, and cleans off easily. Alternatively, you could smoke it with a candle.

They are fun little rifles. I had almost forgotten until mine showed up this week. Likely will be my favorite rifles to shoot.

Relative to my Springers. My neck problem prevents me from using my HW50S. The extra effort to cock causes me more problems than it is worth. It is a great gun and I hate to get rid of it. Ten years ago I would not have noticed any significant difference between the HW30 and the 50. Hey, that is life and I have lived a lot of it.

Yes, the reality of aging can be a bear at times. I alternate arms, position, whatever it takes to make sure that I can continue.
