Beyond the barrel issues, this has to be the thing i like the least about the gun. I am so tired of removing the buttstock for every change!

How are you all doing it???

I've been thinking about drilling through the pad and rearend of the stock to allow a long flat head to slide through the whole stock and reach the adjusting lug.

Thoughts?

Yeah it can get old, but the hammer does very Little below 2400-2500 psi so really I just leave it alone until I get the reg up high.

So far I have just been pulling the stock. I leave the safety off the rifle so it's pretty fast & easy to remove the stock.

Like Neu said, I have found my hammer spring is best at the same setting all the way up to 2500psi.

The whole 2500psi threshold you refer to assumes your spring is stock. Add the hammer kit or change the length of a V2 spring and the range of adjustments go up.
I am also at 2500 now and am looking to tweak the tune.

I cut my stock spring .500" back when I was just getting started with pellets.

For my pellet tune I am still running it 1/2 turn 'out' from flush. When I was slug testing last week I had the reg. up at 2500psi and turning the hammer spring adjuster 'in' 1/2 turn only gave 2fps more velocity. Turning 'outward' another 1/2 turn from my pellet tune position didn't change the velocity at all.

To my way of thinking my hammer spring adjustment was correct at any velocity I tried from 2050psi up to 2500psi. Not what I expected, but the results were what they were.

Set up your gun on its legs, and get a bag of rice in a zip lock under the handle. Start with it back, and slide it forward to lower the barrel.

Keep the buttstock removed, and be prepared to fiddle for 4 hours in one sitting, so make sure you have plenty of air and ammo.

Makes setting a tune nice and easy, if youre going to stick with one type of ammo.
