Airguns Under Attack Again - How Can You Help?

Here’s a message from Airgun Sporting Association President Ed Schultz.

I wanted to give you a quick update on Garrett’s Law (H.R. 10583), a federal bill introduced in September that would classify many common airguns as firearms. If passed, it would bring federal background checks, dealer licensing and new felony penalties to airguns, including many of the pellet rifles and pistols you use today.

The bill is not expected to move before the election, but we expect it to be reintroduced next year. ASA is monitoring it closely and working with our industry partners and national organizations to oppose it. We will keep you informed and let you know when and how you can help.

We’d also like to hear from you. Please take a couple of minutes to fill out our short member survey. Your answers help shape what ASA focuses on next year. (Click through using the Survey Monkey redirect link if prompted).

In the meantime, the most important thing you can do is vote. The general election is Tuesday, November 3. Please take a few minutes to learn where the candidates on your ballot stand on the Second Amendment and on airguns, and then make sure your voice is heard. You can check your registration and find your state’s voting information at Redirect Notice.

Thank you for your support of the airgun community.

Best regards,

Ed Schultz
President, Airgun Sporting Association

We have the safest sport in the industry and maybe 2-3 deaths that I know since I was working for Mac-1 in the early 80s! It it time to get ahold of our senators and voice and show what we have and done since we started the field target and shilouette in 1981 on.

When I first read it I thought it was just spam in my email this is unbelievable because the Supreme Court is reestablishing more guns rights to owners on one hand and we have a so-called gun friendly congress so none of this makes sense….
