In our final report from the IWA OutdoorClassics Show of 2025, let’s look at the new FX Leopard and DRS Tactical PCP air rifles that were the latest products from the famous Swedish company. This is last in my delayed reports (because of illness), but definitely not least…
As in 2024, the company’s Mathias Vangilbergen showed me the the latest FX airguns. Thanks for the great explanations, Mathias!
Of course, we spent most time discussing the new FX Leopard. This is more of an airgun platform, rather than an individual model – there’s so many versions available!
The Leopard is available in two basic configurations – with “around the barrel” tube and – more conventional – bottle HPA supply. But the bottle version also incorporates the tube system, providing a total of up to 980cc of air capacity onboard.
Plus, there’s a 540 cc power plenum supporting the buttpad.
Of course, the FX Leopard is available in calibers from .177 to .30. Barrels are available in 500mm, 600 mm, and 700mm lengths. The short-barreled “Compact” model uses the Superior STX Liner. The longer barrels have the Superior Heavy Liner.
Maximum power levels start at 40 Ft/Lbs for the Compact in .177. They extend to 123 Ft/Lbs Muzzle Energy for the .30 caliber model in “Sniper” (700 mm barrel) configuration.
As you would expect, the Leopard includes FX’s externally-adjustable AMP regulator and Quick Tune system. There’s a two stage trigger and side-lever cocking too, of course.
The new rotary magazine is deeper, to accommodate slugs and pellets up to 13 mm ( over 0.5 Inch) long.
The other new product Mathias showed me was the DRS Tactical. Although this had already been launched at the British Shooting Show a few days earlier, this was still its first appearance at IWA.
Of course, the DRS Tactical brings a “real AR” appearance to the existing DRS platform, combined with an attractive price point and accessory up-gradability.
Matthias made sure that I also saw the takedown “case” model of the Dynamic…
… plus also a new version of the FX King, with black, synthetic stock. As always, so many new models from FX Airguns!
