Pyramyd AIR’s Comparison Shopping Tool – What Is It?
I have looked at the Pyramyd website just about every day for the past 15 years – at least. But there’s a website feature that I have never even noticed, let alone used. It’s the comparison shopping tool.
More than that, I have never heard any of my friends talk about it, or read comments about it by people in the HAM Community. Of course I have used comparison shopping tools on other websites. Amazon, for example. Yet somehow I still hadn’t even noticed Pyramyd’s…
Yet it’s right there hiding in plain sight directly in front of my nose. And unless Emily Phillipi – Pyramyd’s Marketing Director – had told me about it, I would never have known. Thank you Emily!
Because it’s very powerful and useful, in my opinion, I thought that others may be interested in learning more about it…
Pyramyd AIR’s Comparison Shopping Tool – What Can You Compare?
Well, you can compare different air rifles, for example. Also different rifle scopes. You can also compare pellets and slugs.
Pyramyd has a TON of information in the site about the products they sell. The comparison tool makes it easy to look at the features of multiple products on one screen to help your buying decision. How did I ever live without it?
Using a desktop computer with a large screen, I was able to compare three, or even four, products at one time. It also works on my iPhone, although best in landscape (horizontal) orientation and with two products at a time – just due to the practical limitations of screen space.
For example, here’s a comparison of .22 caliber Hades pellets and .216 caliber KnockOut slugs.
While there are a few features without the appropriate data – length in the case of the KO slugs, for example – I strongly feel that we should be congratulating Pyramyd for the huge amount of data they have compiled – not complaining about the occasional omissions. Doing this is a massive enterprise that takes much time and effort!
If I decide – in this case – to buy the KO slugs, I simply click on the product photo. The system automatically takes me to the product page to make my order. Simple and good.
Now. How do I add products into the tool?

The simple way to use the comparison tool is to go to a “main category” page. For example, this is the main PCP air rifles page. As you can see, there’s a “Compare” box under each product entry.
Click the check box to select the products you want to compare.
Now, when you click on the Compare link, these products are immediately shown in the comparison shopping tool.
Scroll down to see MUCH more information on the products…
Should you want to remove a product from the comparison, just click the X at the top right of the entry.
Let’s add another product to our comparison. We’ll take the HAM Gold Award-winning Air Venturi Alpha. For speed, we’ll just search for the Alpha by name, using the box at the top of the page. Then I can check the “Alpha” product I want.
Now, when I click the Compare link, my new search is added into the existing comparison.
Perfect!
Again, I can scroll down to see so much more information, all arranged line-by-line in a logical order. Then – of course Pyramyd hopes – I make my choice and buy that shiny new air rifle…
So that’s how Pyramyd AIR’s Comparison Shopping Tool works. I hope this will be useful for many readers as – surely – I am not the only person to have not used it before.
