Black Airguns Are So Yesterday!!!

Black airguns are so yesterday!!! As if to prove this, Pyramyd now has in stock the Reximex RP and RPA models in a huge variety of colors.

Both guns are PCP sidelever-cocking air pistols that are available in .177 and .22 calibers. However the RP model is configured with a synthetic pistol grip and detachable buttstock extension. The RPA has a wood target grip only.

You have read about the Reximex RP and the RPA in Hard Air Magazine previously. Now they’re in stock and also available in a HUGE range of colors!

The RP is available in – wait for it! – Bronze, Desert Wind, Flat Dark Earth, Gold, Safari Camo, Silver, Titanium and Turquoise. Oh, and there’s plain old black, if that’s what you prefer…

The RPA can be had with orange/black and blue/black laminate pistol grips. There’s also the choice of traditional walnut grips with a black action. Or silver!

Both these pistols are regulated and come complete with open sights. The rear sight is adjustable for windage. As an alternative, a long eye relief pistol scope could be a good choice. Or a red dot sight.

In addition, both are supplied with limited-capacity “pistol” and higher-capacity “rifle” magazines. The smaller mags hold 9 rounds in .177 caliber. In .22 cal, it’s 7 shots. The “rifle” mags hold 14 shots in .177 cal, 12 in .22.

As you would expect, power levels are definitely in the “backyard friendly” range. The Muzzle Energy is around 7 Ft/Lbs in .177 caliber, 11 Ft/Lbs in .22 cal. That will make them ideal for basement range shooting in colder climes during the winter months.

So if you feel the need for a change from the traditional diet of black airguns, these Reximex pistols give a ton of alternative choices!

That's pretty cool. I've often thought that the tactical appearance is just not necessary. Perhaps it's because of my background, but I like my hobbies to look like hobbies.

They have a Blue one that would match my car. Just can't pull the trigger yet. I don't think I've ever heard a bad thing about them.
I'm saving for a night vision scope.

I agree. Black has way too much contrast. That pistol seems like a nice unit from all that I have read about it. At the moment I am addicted to reaching out, but in the winter I might circle back. I can find room for a small case. lol

Sorry guys, but I'm a traditional metal and wood gun advocate. Looking at these things gives me a headache. Remember the clowns of old who would twist baloons into colorful shapes? That's what these strange looking things remind me of. My Weihrauch and Air Arms rifles, along with my old Sheridan suite my needs best. I'm old and won't be around for many more yesrs . . . then all my old traditional, straight-shooting guns can go into the dumpster, and all those flashing colored toys can dominate the world. Orv.

Sorry guys, but I'm a traditional metal and wood gun advocate. Looking at these things gives me a headache. Remember the clowns of old who would twist baloons into colorful shapes? That's what these strange looking things remind me of. My Weihrauch and Air Arms rifles, along with my old Sheridan suite my needs best. I'm old and won't be around for many more yesrs . . . then all my old traditional, straight-shooting guns can go into the dumpster, and all those flashing colored toys can dominate the world. Orv.

Nobody is disrespecting classic blued steel and walnut, it's the all black AR type gun finishes that are boring, unimaginative, and stick out like a sore thumb. With that said, good guns will always be good guns, regardless of their finish and few will ever see a dumpster. I hope not anyway.

Yes, the blued steel and walnut reminds me of my dream pistols of the seventies: the FWB 65 and Diana 10. Two of the classic 10m pistols of yesteryear.

Yeah, the FWB65 was really cool, kind of like a Luger look compared to some of the others. I had the Diana 6M, and I loved the Giss system it used. They should have kept building those.

I had a model 6, very accurate, but a behemoth for a 13 year old. The last I saw it, it was thrown in a box in my brothers garage.

I don't care if people think it's a toy if I'm holding it. I'd probably prefer that, because that person most likely would know nothing of it anyway. Anyone else can paint their gun to look like a toy at any moment regardless of how it came. Kids are suspended from school for making a finger gun with their index finger and thumb already, so any object looking like a gun is already considered a gun. I just think the problem with the choices here, are that they are pretty bad. The solid FDE might be alright, but the rest ... I just don't know what they were thinking, or who they were marketing these to. A BIG JMHO.

I hear you. That was a long time ago. My dad required us to wipe down the bluing with an oily cloth every time that used them. My brother never really got the airgun bug like I did.

We all liked to shoot anything, and when we had nothing we'd make weapons, of all types. It was like what I imagined prison to be like, except our father was Judge, Warden, prison guard and executioner all in one. "Wait till your father comes home," carried serious weight in our house! He usually thought that the weapons were pretty good though, if we didn't do anything stupid with them. It was fun having to make do, before the Internet. Kids today will never know, and they think that they have it better.

I wipe each of my guns down with a Ballistol impregnated rag following each day of shooting. I'm just glad to know that I'm not the only one to have pride in my tools. Orv.
