250Z Best moderator

I've got my two new barrels polished and installed, Just haven't had many opportunities to shoot. The weather will be getting warmer soon and the time change is less than a month away. So, I should be putting them through the paces soon and updating my thread. Both guns have plenums, one is ported the other isn't, yet... ;)

Both of those .25 cals?

Im running a BRK mod on my 250z and it lowers the tone considerably. It was about 150 bucks from AOA. I tried the Heartland Mini but it's not even close to toning it down.
Yea. The mini mod is great on small stuff like my notos, or pistols. For something like your 250z you really want the full size one. Admittedly, my moderators arent the quietest, but they arent the worst either, and at a reasonable price. If you are looking for top of the line, go with the higher end moderators, but if you are looking for a budget moderator that is good enough. Mine fit that bill nicely.

Having said that, I'm working on a few things to improve my lineup while trying to maintain affordability.

I guess I should add something on topic... ;)

I initially got and Airgun Capital mod, and for $100 it isn't bad. I just bought a DFL Sumo, got it for $135 from Utah Airguns. I don't have a way to measure dB and I know how subjective it can be. But the Sumo does seem quieter. I'm hoping to get some trigger time in tomorrow so I will have a much better idea of the differences then.

I was really happy with my Buck Rail modular moderator right up until it blew apart today. I was shooting the Condor slug barrel and shot a slug that was .002 oversized and I guess all the back pressure was more than the moderator could stand but it was a good accurate shot on paper anyway.

Yeah. It happens. They sort ya right out super quick though. Terry and his sister are top notch about their warranty.

I could not agree more. I clipped a baffle on a 22 cal modular. So I sent an email asking if I could buy 1 or 2 individual baffles. They sent out a complete 25 cal modular instead.

Yep. Their lifetime is really awesome.

However, the full size i believe its called whisper pro model now, yeah. Just took some pop shots with it. Shorter, thinner, and tuned in just right for 32 grains, exactly what I was looking for.

The br, is freaking amazing. You won't go wrong with it at all. I think its higher tone, is what the shooter hears due to its release ports to direct atmosphere. Thing hushes the 250z right up.

But, hunting, toting around, heartland. Equally as hushed as a br mod with 1 extra baffle section(how i run it stationary in lofts when I was smack downing rats). And shorter. Much, much shorter.

Ill be checking that accuracy is still dialed in later today.

Oh, that good to hear. I haven't contacted them yet, but I will.
Yeah, they'll have you right as rain in no time.
I can say that they work great. I considered the Condor to be big backyard friendly with the Buckrail but without it it's like a shotgun going off. Hugh difference.
I can imagine!🤣🤣 by buddy got the sheriff at his place with a gauntlet, so id picture something like that scenario.

Gentlemen, what are your thoughts for a moderator for the 250Z? I've just pulled the trigger and ordered the rifle straight from Barra. I know there are a wide variety that will work but I am trying not to break the bank.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions

P.S. It is the .22 cal.
Heartland Airguns have stolen my heart ❤️ there mods can not be beat dollar for dollar. I run them on 2 notos builds 40 foot pounds and 60 foot pounds. A 120 foot pounds zelos and 22 & 25 barrel 50 foot pound rifles. All mods under 100 bucks and the lightest weight mods on the market nothing comes close. High Pressure Pneumatics has them in stock now.
