First thing is first when I got this rifle it shoot lights out alright loved it have video of killing dogs at 220yds! It’s great. Well I bought a chronograph and my issues started. Now it’s all over the place idk where exactly flush is on the hammer spring. It’s also has this extra insert with the hammer spring screw that either has issues coming out or mine is messed up I’d like to clean the hammer and maybe polish it well that will not come out and I’d hate to force it and mess something up. On paper this thing is all over the place with 40.1 gr Harper slugs it’s also all over not near as bad but bad are the 22.7gr H&N hornets maybe it’s the ammo I understand that mine loved the jsb 33 gr insane accuracy for me but I mean those Harpex slugs where off like throwing them 6 inches left or right horrid bad I mean wanted to throw it away now could be just the ammo but I fully understand either way that iv got some massive issues. My reg does not creep so idk if it is my reg I mean say I’m running 2100 psi and now I wanna run 2500 all I can say is that I set it shoot it 5 times it comes down to about 2400 adjust it again than it stays untill my pressure gets close enough it starts dropping the reg. If that’s normal great!? But in all honesty I belive it’s my hammer spring or my barrel really needs cleaned I have put about 1200 rounds thru it maybe more I have only ran a normal cleaning rod thru it nothing crazy so maybe that’s my issues does not look bad looking they it apart but maybe it really is. Just stating this things life here. I was also told not to get the slug power kit for this gun being the new updated version at the end of the day I’m at a loss with things things at this point and waiting on ammo 😂 but before I put the gun back together I am going to clean it and hopefully have your guys feedback on this hammer spring and reg setting really just want to be able to throw 22-33gr pellets and have a 33 around that 950fps or higher pics below

Also idk why or what the reason with this hammer spring but when it’s almost completely out like screw is about to fall out it gets the hottest speeds make no sense to me if it does you help me understand because everyone says 3.5 1.5 turns in well that’s like 20 turns OUT from what I’d say flush it’s back of the block top is screw forgot to add that

Holy $h!t, clean that barrel! 1200! Rounds? You don't pick a number. Your gun tells you when it's time to clean the barrel. Accuracy goes south. I have guns that I have to pull a patch through the barrel every time I fill the gun with air. It seems common that most slug shooters will go between 100 and 200 rounds before needing to, but you don't know until you know. Definately clean the barrel before trying anything else, especially since you had good accuracy to start with.

Yes sir I will get this barrel beyond clean but that I still have to get this hammer spring right again I mean so on mine I can turn it in to the point it won’t cock the gun start there and come out? Or do you by chance now on this new model where flush is

I think I may have figured it out guys tbh the barrel isn’t bad but the hammer my god the hammer was gross wouldn’t slide on its own bad nasty

Clean the hammer and where it goes, remove all oils, rub on powdered graphite. It never gums up, isn't effected by heat or the cold, and doesn't attract dust or dirt. Go dry, it works.
I will do that that next hey what do you run on yours and what speeds are you getting

I have a .22, that I run dry like I said, I have opened my thimble port to 4.3mm, and I changed my hammerspring to a twin spring setup that doesn't really match anything else. My reg is set to about 2450psi and I only shoot slugs, ZAN .217 23gr, 950fps, and JSB KO 20.83gr .216 980fps, same tune. Super consistent and plinking at 200y now, fun stuff!

edit: I should clarify that I run dry where there is no high pressure air, I lube my regulator and the orings in there obviously.

Scroll down this page and you will see the brass thimble I opened up. For a .25 open it to 4.4mm, if you go much bigger you could hit the oring grooves, don't. You don't need a video for that, just be careful. If you need a disassembly video, watch Northeastbeast's video. You should read all his, Cantona256, Bladefin's threads in this Barra section. They talk about everything that's doable to this gun, and have done it.

Im still so jealous of your arca set up. I think you did a really good job with it.

Me too. Some guns like the HW30 I can shoot 300!-500 rounds, but the JTS Aircuda needs to be cleaned at about 200 rounds and it easily lets me know when. So does the QB78 .
The guns tell the story.
Important discussion

Thanks! I absolutely can't talk it up enough. It is such a compact, solid, lightweight so!ution, that I wonder why they don't just build these right into more guns. It was a pain to do, and I probably got lucky too, but it really makes the gun special, being accurate doesn't hurt either. lol

You ain’t lying about accurate. This is a cheap 3-9 scope and the barra was dealing this morning. A got a couple 50y+ headshots even got one bird at 85y which is my record for a Dove…. But yeah I can’t get passed the shot count. I’ve gotten so used to getting my work done in 20-25 shots or less that the 50shots and scba tank means I’ll run out of ammo before I run out of air haha.
