Others Athlon Midas Tac 5-30x56 Gen 2

I got my Athlon Midas Tac Gen 2 in today, I have only ever used the Helos BTR 2-12 which I loved and actually turned a few other airgunners on to, but the Midas Tac gen 1 got such praise I figured getting back into airgunning I'd give the Gen 2 a try, so far I have read its everything the Midas Tac Gen 1 is, and then some.

My ghost showed up today too so hopefully will get around to giving this a go relatively soon!

Anyone here currently using this scope? How do you like it?

Personally i don’t care for the reticle as i loose the ctr dot its too small for me i prefer the reticle with the +. Good glass though!

I just looked through this thing and the glass is actually awesome, I really like that it came with metal flip up scope caps as well.

The helos 2-12 BTR gen 2 is great, I actually owned 4 of them at one time because I was so impressed with the first one.

I like the helos a lot too. I like the aplr 6 reticle a lot. Have 4 helos 4 argos and an ares all with the same looking reticle. Some complain they can’t see the reticle of these ffp scopes at lower power but if you illuminate them its a whole different story. Good glass in all. I’m very happy with athlon!

How does this compare to The One from DNT?

It definitely has it beat in the weight category 100% , noticeable in the hand as well as on paper (30 oz vs 42 oz) It does have a lower mag than dnt though. Not sure how much of a role that plays.

When I get back from vacation I'm going to put both through their paces. So far I've only taken a 30 second glance through both and they both impressed me.

I'll really be able to gauge both after shooting the forerunner 6-24 that came on the ghost.

I had a Midas Tac 4-16x and it was the best scope I ever owned. The clarity was amazing. Comfortable eye box, etc.
I wanted a lighted reticle and I wasnt crazy about the MT reticle, but it was OK, so I sold it. How I wish I'd kept it. I also don't care for ffp reticles. I hate dialing down to a reticle with all the marks that are no longer usable. It didn't really matter as I used it at 10x and up, but what's the point of even having 9x and below?
But those scope are the best.
