250Z Am i the only one wondering?

Am I seriously the only one wondering if barra is truly worth the 500, 520 price point?

I have personally had to lap a minute choked out of the .25, polish the barrel, polish the trigger, clean up nasty machine marks on not just the valve body, but the poppet pin, breach, and shroud reliever., and both out the valve to get my numbers, polish the hammer,

Purchase and tune a slug kit, for a gun that is meant to throw slugs equally as well.

Let's keep things in the realm of reality. I make 32 an hour. Im roughly 20, 25 hours into this thing.

800+500= 1300

I would say, that today, I can not buy, a dead nuts accurate, .25 caliber pcp, for 1300 that hits just under 70 fpe, and groups as nice as this 1"x1" target, at 90-95 yards. I was literally so bored, I decided to try and take out all the orange.

Thats 11 33g pellets BTW, and yes, I was sitting, using bipods, and absolutely taking my time.

Great target.. Maybe the replacement barrels are better... But lapping and a polish is in order for most, if not all barrels of any manufacture..
I always minimum have polished a barrel when I go to clean it. Then I slug it, then knock down high spots if they're manageable.

Honestly I don't have hands on with other pcps, but I do have free time!

Lots of elbow grease needed to get these rifles sorted out! Very well worth it I believe. Great group by the way.

Thanks! I wasn't trying to group, I was seeing if I could take out all the orange on the square.

That's 33 grain Apollo slugs at 50(right about give or take a yard) yards out.

I just don't have any experience with any pcp other than this one, at a mid tier price, that out the box was a laser with hades, and elbow grease is an absolute slug monster.

The work pays off! Not only that, but it feels a whole lot better in the end then just plunking down a load of cash.
This is it. To me. Im doing the final open right now. 100% worth it. Ill be taking the valve and thimble to the largest they can go, repolishing the trigger set and hammer a little finer, and even though I haven't had a problem with it yet, opening the regulator, and shining up all its internals.

After that, I'll tune it back, sight it in, and I know that its right where it needs to be, and a total monster.!

I believe the barra fits alot of spots for people. Its a great learner rifle for the newbie. Fits the bill for the guy who loves to mod them out. Shoots both pellets and slugs pretty well after a good polishing. I have personally enjoyed the process of building one. Im about to start a 25 250z build from a pile of left over parts I have and just see how far I can push it. A aftermarket barrel has been my goal but have yet to get it done. Fingers crossed for 2026

I like how most the components are cheap and available.

Let's me worry just a little bit less if I have an 'awh 💩' moment.

I just opened everything up to just under 4.8mm, but opened up to 4.4 and polished, untouched reg at 2850/2900, slug kit, and trigger kit, here's some zans, and h&n 28's.

Loads of potential.

Im going balls out for the 61gn Zan and 60gn Altaros. I have access to 900 yards and if we shoot over a large pond 1400 yards. So should make for some great long range content this spring.

Holy hell that would be amazing to see the full abilities of a buck nasty modded out .25.

I know I'll probably never stretch this things legs to its limits, but its awesome that you can!
60 grain! 🤯

That sounds amazing!

I don't have access to shoot beyond 300yrds legally, and it's a 2hr drive each way. I've also got a couple of other hobbies that take up time. So, it's backyard shooting for me. 100yrds max, with most of it 30-70. I just want it to be as much of a tack pusher as I can make it in those ranges.

Samsies. I gotta worry about dairy cow backstops. 😅😅😅

Except for at night time! Im monkeying around this weekend after the grand re opening! I can't wait to see the difference it makes on 33 grainers!

Plus try some jsb knockout outs too! Utah air has those on clearance right now, so I snagged a can real quick to test if I can run the 251's out of the barrel.

100 yards is all ya need for a great time. When I started shooting airguns in the late 90s 100 yards was unthinkable. Man how far we have come.
