Today we have an Air Venturi Avenge-XL update. For the first time this model has appeared on the Pyramyd website. It’s nearly here!
Now it’s not my intention to bash Air Venturi over the delay to this product. There have been factors far beyond its control happening in the past year, as we all know.
But it is coming and there’s more good news. The price is less – yes you read that right – the price is less! – and the power more than announced last year. Some good things are worth waiting for
In fact, Hard Air Magazine first carried details of this new model precisely one year ago – on January 22, 2025. So this post is an update, including more details and those specification changes that have happened over the past 12 months.
Last year, the Street Price was listed as $799.99. Now it’s $749.99 – a $50.00 reduction!
Meanwhile the power specification has increased by over 10%, as follows:
.22 caliber was 58 Ft/Lbs with 18.1 Grain pellets – now 66 Ft/Lbs.
.25 caliber was 79 Ft/Lbs with 25.4 Grain pellets – now 89 Ft/Lbs.
.30 caliber was 120 Ft/Lbs with 44.75 Grain pellets – now 133 Ft/Lbs.
Hey, that sounds like a pretty good deal!
What hasn’t changed is the mission for the Air Venturi Avenge-XL. It’s the “big brother” member of the extremely successful Avenger family, adding more power and a .30 caliber option for the first time.
In addition to the expected externally-adjustable regulator and hammer spring tension, there’s also a separate, light, hammer spring that can be easily installed to provide a higher shot count.
In conjunction with the 500cc HPA tank – the largest to date on a Avenger-family product – the light hammer spring gives specifications for consistent, out-of-the-box, shot strings, up to:
– .22: 160 shots per fill at 900 FPS with 18.1 Grain pellets (32.69 Ft/Lbs).
– .25: 90 shots per fill at 850 FPS with 33.95 Grain pellets (54.48 Ft/Lbs).
– .30: 75 shots per fill at 890 FPS with 44.75 Grain pellets (78.73 Ft/Lbs).
The stock incorporates M-LOK and Arca-Swiss accessory rails on the forearm for attaching bipods or other supports for benchrest and other long-range shooting disciplines.
At 9 Lbs 7 Oz – plus scope, bipod etc – the Avenge-XL is not a lightweight. Plus, with an overall length of 48 Inches with the collapsible stock fully extended, it’s a fair length, too.
For a final note in this Air Venturi Avenge-XL update, future customers will be pleased to hear that caliber conversion kits will also be available too.
