Because it’s the same supply of barrels, would be my guess.

Agreed. That’s all I was saying. Just produce a product without major defects with fit, finish and accuracy that you would expect for that price point. For years, Crosman made inexpensive guns that shot very well. I guess there’s no excuse for Barra.
I absolutely agree that's why I'm upset with it/them. Out of the 10 air rifles I own the reg on the 250z is probably one of the best, 4 to 6 fps spread constantly. The trigger with the kit is great. The stock well the stock kinda sucks but it is what it is. The rifle has a ton of potential but with the barrels I have received it's all pointless. I lapped the hell out of one of them yesterday to remove the high spots and open up the choke hopefully it helps. Of course it's pissing rain and 35 degrees today lol but I should be able to test that barrel soon.I’m with you. For $500 you shouldn’t expect a $300 to $600 match grade barrel, but you absolutely should expect to receive a barrel free from defects that at least meets minimum design specs. The sad part is that the majority of Barra 250z rifles can hold their own against a lot of $1000 to $2500 air rifles out to 50-60yds.

Wow that is impressive!!! What weight pellet are you using? So the lapping made a huge difference, I can only get one pellet to shot good but it's pretty much dead on with jts pellets. That pic is a 8 shot group at 50 yards. I was able to repeatedly hit a 1/2 spinner at 75 yards. Still no joy on any slugs but at least I can enjoy it now. Reg @2100 and hammer flush. I'll continue to tune and see if any slugs will work.

Thank you I will try some of those. Those are the jts 18 grain pellets
So, if you have a flush hammer spring, does that mean the problem with the 22 cal is back from version one, and they continued using their supply of defective barrels, into version two?So the lapping made a huge difference, I can only get one pellet to shot good but it's pretty much dead on with jts pellets. I am thinking it may take a bit of time to get it sorted. Not sure if this is an option, but in researching this gun. It appears it is the same gun basically as the Artemis M30 and the Snowpeak M30C. Would it be possible to get a barrel from one of those guns.Well, still no word from Barra !!! I believe we are on our own !! Great gun except the barrels.. I was gullible and believed Jake that this issue would be resolved.. I can't believe Barra would come on this forum and not keep their word..
I’m not defending them as most know that I really pushed Barra with this issue. I pushed them so much they started calling me at home. I’ve dealt with this type stuff in a different but similar industry ( RC Hobby). Barra doesn’t make anything. They use an OEM manufacturer and in this case purchase an already existing design from Snowpeakwith changes made to make it their own unique product. Because they don’t control the manufacturing, it could take many months for them to get a resolution. Factor in retooling and logistics alone and that would make it quite a wait. Just a thought, I could be way out in left field.Well, still no word from Barra !!! I believe we are on our own !! Great gun except the barrels.. I’m guessing they are choked. Barra told me that the Un-choked barrel was their design stipulation.I am thinking it may take a bit of time to get it sorted. I'm sure it will take time, my issue with them is they continue to sell a known defective product. They replace a bad barrel with a bad barrel then state they will inspect the next one sent. They should be inspecting all barrels being sent as it's a known issue. Or halt sells of .22 till the issue is sorted.I’m not defending them as most know that I really pushed Barra with this issue. I had that discussion with them months ago.I'm sure it will take time, my issue with them is they continue to sell a know defective product. 1/31/26 is when their new preorders will be distributed. Hopefully they've figured out their barrel qc issues by then.I had that discussion with them months ago.
