That is good shooting! I use a cheap CV Life Red Dot on mine and have no trouble spinning 3" targets at 50yds.Hi all,
Just received my first "real" HW50 today, bought a while back from Airguns of Arizona, and boy did they deliver!
Beautiful used rifle, spot on in every way and.- THANK YOU AoA!! - very well packed for shipment, easily surviving an impact that accordioned one end.
I believe it's an OEM gun, made in 2015 (no laser markings!) and with a snug .22 barrel.
First few getting to know you shots across the basement were almost perfectly centered on target from a mechanically centered scope, and stacked pellet on pellet as accuratly as my FWB 300 can shoot. Using 11.9 Hobby pellets no less, and traveling at 650 fps, which is a warm 13 ft-lbs from a stock 50.
The six shot group looks like a single pellet hole. And keep in mind - I shot 3 pellets, walked over to see what was happening then went back and shot 3 more on top of the first 3. Yes, that's six shots from two "sittings". Gives me chills.
But the scope I mounted is a 2-7x32 Nikon with no AO. It would probably have been fine for plinking around & shooting spinners. Until I saw how this rifle shoots, that is. Clearly, this one is going to need more appropriate glass!
So, I'd like to find a small-ish, light-ish quality scope with AO or SF and a legit MOA or half mil reticle. Second focal plane.
I'd maybe go for 9x on the top end nut I'd really like more. 12x sounds good.
And of course, parallax has to dial down to 10 yards. At least.
All suggestions welcome, the more economical the better....

I know it's only 9 yards but still, thats a little bananas!
Rusty amateur shooter, kinda blurry scope, only a boiler pipe for offhand support, etc.
that might be the best Robin Hood group I've even produced, and I'm under the weather today.
I've had my 20 minutes of fun and I'm gonna go get some more sleep, but first chance I get, this is going to the range for a true workout. Hope it's real soon!
I have medium sportsmatchReread the whole thread and no one made mention of the rings they are using....so here goes. I like shooting mine with irons and all but I am at the point where I want to really see what my HW50 can do with a scope! I have an unloved 3x9x40 Vantage hanging around that should suit it nicely. I want to see if this thing stock can out shoot my tuned TX lol.
What (height) rings do you guys use on yours? I like low as I can go, and am guessing some med mounts should work? @Scriv ?
mounts on my HW30N with a 44 mm objective. I'm thinking that they would work for you.We use essential cookies to make this site work, and optional cookies to enhance your experience.
