I had to travel a bit last week, and have been in recovery mode for a couple of days. I got the HW50S, and the HW97KT out of the safe. I charged up the ghost as well. The first thing I grabbed was the HW50S, and a tin of pellets. I went out back, and shot until I thought that I was done. I put it back in the rack, and grabbed the HW97KT, and shot some more. When I had finished, I placed it back in the rack next to the ghost. It's good to be home. I missed my springers. It wasn't the worst trip. I visited my off spring, and bought a new shotgun.

Funny how things can change in less than a month. The Ghost is gone, and I have two more Weihrauch rifles in the stable.
After reading your comment, have you moved away from PCP's to springers? I ask because I'm on the fence about buying a ghost. I really like my R7/HW30 but have been reading aobut PCP's and I can't help but wonder if PCP's are worth the expense vs a nice HW97 or equivalent.

A few years back all I had was a R7 I had it for decades. It's a long story, but I have had a wolverine R, Red Wolf, ghost, delta Wolf, black Wolf, and a walther LP 500. The Red Wolf, and the walther are all that's left. The short answer is yes I have moved away from PCP to springers. Honestly, for me, they are not worth it. I didn't mind the expense per se, it was more the dissatisfaction of receiving new rifles that didn't hold air. Practically speaking, it wasn't much of an issue, but having not shot a rifle for a couple of weeks, and having to top it off before I could shoot bugged me. I also appreciate the traditional appeal of blued steel, and wood. I can enjoy them just sitting in the rack, and they're ready to go when needed. Two of my springers have exceptional wood. I have many hobbies, and the springers fit my airgun needs. I suppose the Red Wolf will leave at some point even though it has not let me down. We'll see. I wish you luck with your decision. I suppose I could also add that I appreciate the challenge of learning to shoot a springer well. Like the same reason that having owned all sorts of Archery gear, I prefer the longbow when shooting for fun, or hunting.

I appreciate your honesty. I've been on the fence when it comes to buying a PCP. I tend to gravitate to things that are simple and easier to fix. I can relate to the blued steel and wood stocks of a nice springer. Heck, I'm still driving my old 2002 Tacoma because I can do most of the repairs myself and it hasnt left me stranded yet. Thank you for the advice.

You are most welcome. You sound like a springer kind of guy. That's the beauty of airguns. There is something for everyone to enjoy.

This was one of the best, and measured, reponses I've read on this. It represents the journey without the drama of this vs that. Some opinions might change along the way, both ways, but just be happy where you're at. You'll know what kind of airgunner you'll want to be really quickly, but you do need some experience first. This posting by @Scriv has that in abundance.

Thank you I appreciate your consideration.

Weebz, I definitely appreciate the traditional look of blued steel and walnut. You can still get this with choice PCPS. I even like my Indonesian walnut on my Cayden. Consider buying used and budgeting for an aftermarket stock to get better wood. I treat with tung oil to bring out those beautiful lines.
