If I was buying my first PCP I would really be drawn to this in .25. Just because it looks so much like a real gun.

Nice new feature set, especially moving the safety. I'd miss not being able to put an arca rail on the balance point, but an upgrade worth getting over the original I think just for the plenum, let alone a wood stock.

I was more than excited about this new 270z when you guys first made mention of it on here a few months back. But, I have cooled off some on my interest. Not sayin' I won't end up with a 270z but I am not sure I see enough improvement over my 250z to justify buying this new rifle.

I often buy a new rifle toward the end of each year. This year it's likely to be an Epic Vision 420mm, an FX Classic MK2 walnut 600 or this 270Z???

For the tactical crowd the 300z will only be about a month behind this one and should also be coming out in a .30 if I remember correctly, as well as .25 versions.

Now, now, let's not forget who copied who first, and then tried to own the idea. That won't soon be forgotten, by me anyway!

That long flat spot on top or the stock and behind the bolt handle just ruins the looks of the rifle for my eye.

If I draw a faux bolt shroud to add behind the bolt handle maybe I can find someone to 3D print it for me??? The bolt handle looks to be held in place with a plate and bolt that threads into the back of the bolt body. Would be a simple part to add a faux bolt shroud to the back-end of the bolt. The part would blend in that flat spot and make the rifle look more like a typical bolt-action design rifle.

I know..., it's just a looks thing and won't improve the rifle's performance at all. But, I find it hard to enjoy owning/shooting a rifle that I don't like the looks of.

What do you guys think about the looks of that flat spot behind the bolt handle on the 270z? Are you good with it, or does it ruin the look of the rifle for you also?

Please!!! I shoot Airforce guns and a Benjamin M357 so mine all look like some kind of Star Wars blasters, so I guess looks have been kind of low on my list of priorities. Haven't quite made it to potatoe gun status yet.

Frankly, the 270z is a far more exciting release than the Gen3 Mrod. I have enough pcps, but am leaning toward buying this one to add to the mix.

From your perspective, and take on the G3, and owning a 250z myself, I would definately think that you would find this gun more interesting and different. They are a hoot! If I didn't already have a 250Z, I would be getting a 270Z too.

Might should wait to see how the barrels are on these 270's, especially since they aint fixed on the 250z yet.

Having been one of the early Barra 250z barrel victims, I’m still willing to give the 270z a shot. I would really like to see an honest comparison between the Barra 270z and the FX DRS MKII.

Well i have some altaros slugs 40gr. I give it a go but i need to get some legs to support my target.

Current set up only giving 880 with the altaros 40 i think they need to go 900 for optimum performance

Well guys, i think the new 270 is a gorgeous piece of work for sure. And I hope all functions as it should, and accuracy on all of them compares to the above review, and my simple 1100Z .25[at 40 yards!]. But, that's a big leap in cash when the 250 still aint right. Sayin that though, man, this thing sure does call to me.

Nope, I don't think so, I remember reading somewhere that you don't need to shoot those in the 900's, 880 should work fine with the projectile. Now, whether the gun shoots it well at that speed, that's the question.

I got to have the rails and arca mount points on the z. Its why I opted to simply buy the l.w barrel when I could. You can gussie up plastic, you never mess with wood grain.

However, id love to experience some freehand trigger time on the 270. If that makes sense.
