What'cha doing air gun related today?

Shot a couple more attempts at elf on the Shelf Christmas Challenge, one with my Daisy 840 and one with the Crosman M4-177. I sped through both in my cool garage, and results reflect it. But it was nice to be plinking a bit just the same. Both guns were recently oiled, and the 840 at least was night and day difference in operation. Smooth as butter through the whole shot cycle. Might actually be holding air now too (preshot). 🤔

I picked up 2 more rifles from a pair od Gunbroker.com auctions.

HM1000X .357 and a BM500X .30
The HMX is, according to Martin Rutterford, one of 2 or 3 prototypes he made back in 2014.

But both needed some work. The HMX literally had several rotten orings that I had to chase down all the bits.

Ordered spares from Martin, came in two days, and got both guns sealed and holding air.

But neither had a moderator so no testing allowed until moderated.

The end of the BM500X has a 5/8-18 post and no one makes an adapter for that.

The HMX has a M30x1 end cap. One of the AEA rifles has that but only up to .30.

So deep diving I eventually came across:
Input parameters
Boom, 3d model .STL file

A bunch of printed adapters later I have adapters for both guns.

Great work man, looks so cool!

Nothing, way too cold. At most I will load my @orion magazine for when my Krait arrives. I don’t know how some of you shoot in this 🤣
I moved to Arkansas for 2 years from Nebraska and miss it, I hate the deep cold now....30° F man is Not That bad 😆. 0-10 degree weather in cornhusker land, I've been Running out my back door with a caldwell in one hand, rifle in the other placing the chrono in position, emptying a 10 round mag and running back inside with said equipment haha.

It has been a very cold winter for many states. I live in N.Y in a valley but I can't imagine living on a lake where the wind just rips across.

In a fit of genius, I went out in the 9 degree feels like, with snow drifting down, and "army man certified" my M4-177. 3 mags (15 shots) and about 12 minutes later I couldn't feel my trigger pulls but I was happy to have the shots complete with successful lead slynging. 10 meters, 5 pumps, H&N FTT. Thank you for your service 😂😂… I get it though. Shooters gotta shoot.

I agree, been a brutal winter. Whole days where the temperature never gets above 55f. Nights sometimes in the 30s. I have even had frost on my car one morning.

Only going to get to 65f today.

When will this horror ever end.
You joke but as a man who lives in SW Utah this speaks to me. For me to be out chasing coyotes in 30° weather takes a lot haha.

I like to pull my car up on a dirt road.. I have a chrono that clamps on… so I run out a target real quick, warm up in the car and then window down *pew pew*
