What did you buy/receive today?

I have a lot of hobbies, colleting guns is an expensive one. Just ask my wife. I got this Amalite 50BMG in a ammo trade recently. I've never owned one, but I use to shoot my buddy's. Ammo is so expensive. I had to buy a scope rail and a cheap scope because, go figure, they don't make iron sights for it!! I'm about to Cerakote some guns in the garage for a friend, well one AR is mine. Oven is heating now. I'm trying out that new FX to see what it looks like. See what I mean about my hobbies.

I can use the BMG to hog hunt. I have gun, will travel!!
LOL, Theres a reason why they don't make iron sights for the Armalite .50 BMG .

Went to local antique mall with the wife. I found a Crosman 66 pumpmaster, and when I went back to the counter to get it, I noticed what looked like additional air rifles behind the counter and asked to see what was there. After handing me an F4 and Fire break barrel, she pulled out an old Daisy model 188 from October of 1983. Needless to say, I forgot about the others and brought the 188 home. 😍
What a great find! Another superb one to add to the collection.

Yes sir. I figured since the topic was ''what did you buy/receive today'' I received a cheap scope for my Armalite powder burner 50cal BMG lol.
Have you ever shot it before?
That rifle’s built for serious long-range work — you’re talking about a platform that’s meant to reach out past 1,000 yards with precision. Slapping a bargain-bin scope on it just to “see if it’s worth keeping” is like test-driving a race car with retread tires and a fogged-up windshield.

You’re not evaluating the rifle — you’re evaluating the limitations of the scope. Cheap glass won’t track, won’t hold zero, and won’t show you what the gun can actually do. If you want to know whether that rig’s worth keeping, bolt on something that can survive the recoil and actually show you hits. Otherwise, you’re just guessing.

I do not disagree with you what so ever!! I'm really on the edge of if I want to keep it or not. I have not shot it. It is a lefty, I'm a righty. This is not a deal breaker for me though. I guess if I keep it, it would be more of a novelty, hence the $300 Amazon scope just to try it out. I have 1 place that my buddy owns in Escambia County, Al /Santa Rosa County FL that I can shoot it. State line runs through the property. This or drive to a range that allows this type of firearm to be shot, and I don't think there are many close by. I have 14 rounds. I will make a determination after shooting those rounds. Over the next couple weeks.

I have shot 2 others, one nice Barrett, and one built rifle from the barrel off the front of a military plane. I did enjoy both. If I keep it, I will probably look in to reloading. I have a Bergara in 6.5 Creedmoor that I shoot out to 1,000 yards. I would like to start reloading it as well. That scope is a Vortex that cost a $599 5 years ago, and it's still a cheap scope in my mind.

I actually received the tank a few weeks ago. I received the fill line/valve yesterday. Someone on here reached out and offered me an awesome deal on a salvaged SCBA tank that I couldn’t refuse. I’m very thankful and won’t mention who hooked me up without their permission. I ordered the wrong valve originally and subsequently ordered the recommended one from Top Gun Airguns. It took a while to get here due to the holidays. I slowly filled it over two days to just under 300 bar (might top it up to 300 bar). I’m going to print a cradle and handle for the bottle.
