What did you buy/receive today?

Went to local antique mall with the wife. I found a Crosman 66 pumpmaster, and when I went back to the counter to get it, I noticed what looked like additional air rifles behind the counter and asked to see what was there. After handing me an F4 and Fire break barrel, she pulled out an old Daisy model 188 from October of 1983. Needless to say, I forgot about the others and brought the 188 home. 😍
I have a 66, it hung on the wall of my garage for almost 30 years. I just took it down this year and rebuilt it. It was rusty, seals bad and had yellow paint overspray on. I love it.

Well, I had a great Christmas afternoon with one of my grandsons and his new Daisy 880. We shot a bunch of Crossman pellets. We started with the steel plate at 20yds. He then set up some Allen .22 spinners at 40 yds and I told him he was wasting his time with iron sights. Sure enough he hit a couple. I then showed him how to make a mulch/tub backstop. We spent several hours until dark shooting at dots at 20yds. We shot mostly with 5 pumps at around 560 fps. Ten pumps hit 669fps over the Garmin. He’s shot the Ghost and the Sonoran before, but really liked his Daisy. I gave him a laser engraved Red Rider a few years ago and he didn’t show much interest. He really liked the 880. The idea was to teach him to use as low of a power as possible, for his typical sized backyard. My dad wouldn’t allow us to use a scope until we were proficient with iron sights and were are following the same path. It was a beautiful sunny Christmas day at 79f - not exactly Christmas weather lol.

Picked up the H&N 14.66 grain pellets at the PO. Tried one in my hatsan 125 .22. Shot 1 of the bowling pins in the yard dang if didn't Ricocheted back at me. The bowling pin was set around 30 yards and when that pellet decided to return it buzzed then smacked either the front porch or the house. I've only had that happen one other time and the pin was only at 20 yards and it was out of my .25 cal sentry PCP putting out around double the 125s power.

“What PCP is that—Texan .45? If you’re hunting pigs or anything similar, you won’t find a better tool for the job. But if you’re mostly punching paper, I get why it feels like a money pit.”
I have a lot of hobbies, colleting guns is an expensive one. Just ask my wife. I got this Amalite 50BMG in a ammo trade recently. I've never owned one, but I use to shoot my buddy's. Ammo is so expensive. I had to buy a scope rail and a cheap scope because, go figure, they don't make iron sights for it!! I'm about to Cerakote some guns in the garage for a friend, well one AR is mine. Oven is heating now. I'm trying out that new FX to see what it looks like. See what I mean about my hobbies.

I can use the BMG to hog hunt. I have gun, will travel!!

Your AR 50 A1 won't make a good hog rifle. A friend of mine owns a M2 50 cal. Years ago he was Colonel William J. Northquest driver.
