Introductions Hello from Nutty CA

I will most likely just hide in the background....been powder burner for eons,( still do but getting harder here). Have had a springer FWB 124 since the late 70s-( actually belonged to dad I inherited it mid 80's) always considered it a nice ( but dangerous) toy. all are treated like dangerous tools that thae are.
Over last several years acquired PCP both pistols and rifles .177 to .25, one larger 9mm Benjamin bull pup. I use the pistols for target/ maintain skill for competitions, the rifles for fun and small game. I am one of the smiths for the local club, so that is always interesting...lately FX Dreamline ( .177,22,.25 barrels) has been my go to, still not sure If I like the bulpup design. My Marauders were my go to for a long time...still work great....a variety of pistols...the ones I shoot most are the .22 P rod and the .177 HW-44. I do have other single pump/shot .177 pistols ...I blame a friend of mine for getting me started...it began by loaning me a PCP rifle that needed repair..and downhill from there...... needed Scuba tanks now have HPA compressor to keep the 4500 tank full.
oh well..... I am here in CA ( yep ouch) at least I am up in the foothills away from the crazyness.

RENEE: I too am from the People's Republic of California, residing out here in the high desert community of Aguanga (near Temecula). Here, we are more threatened by the occasional rattlesnake than the insane political policies of California. We have our own shooting range, stands to accommodate up to a dozen shooters at a time. If you're in the area, let's get together and go shooting. Lots of room here.
My main shooter is my AA TX200, although I'm also fond of my Dragonfly MK2 as well. I've also got various other airguns and rifles for fun. There are also a few firearms available, mostly for protection, but fun too.

Hello Renee, Glad to have you here. I lived out there at the old Fort Ord Army base for a couple years and I definitely enjoyed the weather out there more than here in NY. Glad to hear you are holding onto your fathers FWB, it is a great gun that will last forever. I am a Springer shooter myself most of the time but I am now getting into the PCP side of life. Quite a different world but I am appreciating it!
To BOTH you and Hoppalong, check out the AAFTA clubs out there. Allot of great people to connect at the multiple clubs out there.

I am up near Jackson CA so quite a bit north of you...but If I head your way....will let you know....I do have 5 Acres of trees and brush and the Air stuff keeps the neighbors happy, although I will shoot powder on occasion for research as long as it is not constant and have respect for the neighbors ( ie time and duration).
good to know others feel same way about PRoCC LOL....

that is the one thing keeping me here ( although the grass looks/appears greener in other states, but for how long?)
afa the 124- I rebuilt it a couple of years ago and yes it is a very nice tool. fun too.
I do most of my shooting on my 75M range or 35M off the deck when punching paper.....will check out the link Thanks.

Welcome! You are just on the edge of some of the best airgunning in the US- You may already be plugged into the Sacramento Valley Field Target club that shoots in Ione? Concord, CA has a very vibrant airgun community, with airgun silhouette, Field Target, Precision, Benchrest, NRL and lots of tomfoolery.

I've children in Oregon, Montana and friends all over the US- you can't move away from stupidity. Every state that you might enjoy is also a beacon for the other side to emigrate.
I'm in NorCal & enjoy it- if they don't like the way I live, THEY can move. My and my family, we're staying.

Come on out when you are in the Bay Area, you won't be disappointed!

Welcome to the forum! Others won't agree but I'd have to say CA is actually one of the best states to be an airgunner, lots of opportunities for both competitive shooting and hunting. Lots of open land, lots of varmints and fantastic weather most all year. Cheers
