Hahahahahahaha! I have too many that fill the same roll in .22. Now 4 in. 25. Only 1 of the .25s is on the lower end of the power scale. Now I want an air rifle I could put the smack down on deer with. . Legally. I know couple of my .25s could pull it off. But I want a .30, preferably little larger. My next air rifle prolly gonna have to be an AirForce barrel swap

Id go .357 or .457 for sure. Most .30cal pcps lacketh the smacketh for deer (whitetails I presume?) and are better for pigs, coyotes, coons etc.

Do hogs count as pigs? I would've thought they'd need just as much penetration as whitetail.

One would sure think it. If for nothing else. Shoot a deer, and if he runs, it's the other way. Shoot a boar and he runs, it's liable to be at you to attack! I would go bigger for the wild boar. .308 always been my caliber of choice for both.

Whitetails are much bigger up here maybe They write-off cars if you hit one. A large deer can run a whole lot farther and faster, id want it down fast (we are not allowed to hunt anything big with Airguns here to be honest) whereas the pig is more of a pest animal usually and are half the weight/height, hit it behind the ear and down it goes......but 100% agree if going after big boars id be wanting plenty of power and a magazine!? I was thinking more the smaller pigs.... The jump in power from .25 to .30 is usually not extreme, but the jump from .30 to .357 is massive (80-130fpe to 200+ in .357) Just my 2C

Alabama white tails tend to be smaller variety. A 130lb ish buck here is pretty good size. Our hogs, however, ha. Those tend to be super sized. Get a 3 or 400lb sow or boar after you, better have a tree nearby!
