What'cha doing air gun related today?

This morning I took this goofball to the trainer for some refresher/prep training for the upcoming pheasant hunting seasons, which gave me an opportunity to take a detour over to Airgun Outdoors. I talked with Travis for a bit about air gun stuff and I got to see the new Daystate Blackwolf. He had it in the carbon stock and bottle configuration with 600 mm barrel. It seems like it has the typical Daystate quality but I don't know about that one to be fair. I wished I could have seen one in a laminate or Walnut stock with the 17" barrel and tube. oh well.
I bought another Impulse Air moderator while I was there. This is the smaller 1200 model. I put it on the Marauder F&T carbine and I think it goes with the rifle better than the bigger one I had on it before. Seems to work just a well as the bigger one. I killed a couple menacing feral soda cans and came inside. Too flippin' hot 🥵 to be outside today.

I my 2240xl with some mods back in service with my Hawke fixed 4x. It’s ready for rodents and agamas. It’s been awhile since i shot CO2. I’d like to run it through a chrony string of a complete cartridge.

I also replaced an oring in my modded dream Notos reg. Testing it overnight

Off topic here but just looking for advice, I'd like to treat myself to a really Top Tier PCPAir Rifle and I was considering the Daystate Huntsman Revere or the Weihrauch HW100 any thoughts or advice from you experienced PCP air gunners?
The HW pcps are my least favorite of the high end "classics"
I'd seriously look at an AirArms S510 or Daystate Revere (or wolverine if your ok with a bottle), but yeah definitely check out of the thread @FL22 highlighted.

So a lot of you may have realized by now that I have been tweaking and playing with my 250z to a level most sane people would consider obsessive. They would probably be correct haha… but little by little I’ve really stumbled my way into a tune I really like.

That crusty old skillet is the difference between my 30gr Franco slugs at like 65fpe… and the 32gr Franco’s doing 980fps for like 68/69fpe 😂😂

I’m basically done playing with this gun now. I have a plenum mod on order and when that arrives it’ll take 10 min to put that in then I’m probably gonna shoot for 75fpe and just leave it alone. Not gonna lie I’m pretty proud of this project. January 1, 2025 I had exactly 0 air rifles and no experience post childhood. It’s been amazing getting into this hobby and talking to y’all has been a REALLY big part of it. So thanks for the help and advice.

Now… does anyone have a Karma SLS in .25 they are bored with? Asking for a friend 😂😂… oh and if you didn’t know… THE Pellet Shop has the first models of the Karma SLS in .30 and 9mm in stock y’all. I want a .25 for a truck gun and most importantly as my “preaching” gun… I’ve taken a few friends shooting already but I gotta couple in mind that once they mag dump an SLS they gonna be cussing me out as they get out their credit cards 😈….. I’m not sorry, I need more hunting buddies.

I just placed an order at UA' guns for another AirMaks Katran & a couple tins of slugs. The moving sale got me !! I'll probably catch it from the Queen next month when the CC statement comes in:rolleyes:. This is 3 Katrans for me now, a Long Bottle .22, a LB HP in .25 & now the LB HP in.22. I was torn between an "Open Box" standard bottle or the HP, both on sale for around the same $. I decided to go with the HP model as I can tune down my current Long B .22 for pellets again. It's currently tweaked for 23-25gr slugs. Oh well , off to find a close dog pen/ kennel close by for later...

Tell me more about the katran LB… I have a chance of getting one for a good price… it’s unchoked as well which I love… but beyond that I can’t find a lot on them.

How easy to tune? What’s the power level like in .25? Is it easy to turn it into the HP version? Can you find the bigger plenum on the aftermarket?

I’m not much for modding guns . Turning hammer springs on the Katran is ALL I do. HP has the larger plenum & I have no idea if you can convert a “ standard” plenum to a HP one. My .25 does ~ 60-65ftlbs w/ 35gr pellets. My .22 Long B was tweaked by UA to spit 23-25gr slugs at close to 900fps. ( 50+ ftlbs) The triggers are superb ( 6-8oz’s). Best info I’ve got. UA is the warranty center for Katran & have done right by me.

Interesting.....HW are your least favorite? Can you expand on that thought?
Absolutely....so first there is the fill probe (🤢), not easy to adjust power, the .177 is a bit hot, the .22 is a bit weak, shots per fill is sub-par(max fill pressure i believe is 2900psi). It lags behind the others in most of the categories, and is a bit outdated imo. Lastly it is (subjective i know!) the ugliest of the bunch. In no way am I saying its a poor choice, but given what your after I'd look hard at the AA or the Daystate.

The only one I would have is the

HW100 Sporter Carbine .177 👌

Thanks, I spoke to one of the guys at Airguns of Arizona and he told me that the HW100 and Daystate are really good choices so I kind of asked him which one would he personally pick and he said the Daystate Hunstman Revere would get the nod. He said that the Daystate 5 year Warrantee and simplicity of design was a better selling point. He basically told me that the Daystate was the Toyota Camry In terms of Air Rifle Quality & Reliability! But. you guys are making me seriously consider the Air Arms S510 too!
