What'cha doing air gun related today?

Ok, the other day, I said 30fpe is just perfect for smacking birds, buuuuut....50fpe ain't bad either😅 💥
4 more birds down, 30Y all caught in the act of stealing cherries. Got her tuned again and I think I'm keeping it at 150Bar for now. Only pellets it likes (and I mean ONLY!) is Reg Mrds and the deep versions.....which I'm sure will be replacing the old Mrds at some point possibly? I can hold it mighty steady by pulling back the right fully extended bipod leg towards myself.

50+ fpe is just lovely for birds if your looking for that satisfying “thwack.” Haha

Ok ill be honest it was a bit much🤣 I chopped a branch in half (after full pass through on the thieving bird) on the last hit, but the 👻 was feeling left out😜
Got out today with the S510 again, got 4 birds in less than 5 minutes, 2 of them off hand!! I find i can steady my shots better when im angry....it was a bit of a slaughter. One I blew it's neck out but it survived somehow, (using 15.89gr Hades) it landed in the ditch, hobbled onto the road and (I kid you not) got flattened by a car about 8 seconds later. Stealing cherries comes with its risks!💀

Between shooting I made some targets in Publisher with margins to fix in my small rubber mulch trap. This trap I am experimenting with. I mixed contact cement in with the mulch to keep it from settling. It won’t be good for getting the lead out, but it works well. The pellets shot with my R7 are not really penetrating it much and are left at the surface.

Interesting, I always thought that the ability of the mulch was an assist in the removal of the kinetic energy in the projectile. Much like atom collisions.

With the 7 fpe the R7 is putting out, I figured a “rubber mat” would suffice. And this forms it to the container perfectly. It’s just as quiet as loose rubber mulch to my ears 20 yards away. And I shot it while my wife was still in bed the last two days and didn’t wake her up. But we also have new impact windows also.

My low power never get past front anyway. But my box of rubbery goodness let's me shoot my Texan safely as well. ❤️

Woke up this morning to some snapped lower branches on my big cherry tree this morning and was wondering what caused it....wasn't that windy last night.... The birds that steal the cherries aren't that big....and I had clipped and snapped that one branch with the Ghost but that was it...hmm?! Well, I went out to check everything at midnight, and that racoon I gave the pass to the other night was up in the tree feasting!🤯 Ran back in grabbed the Ghost and a half full mag of Mrds and ran back out as he scooted off.....gonna check it every night now! Got 2 more birds in afternoon off the same tree with the S510 and one squirrel. Here is the 15.89 Hades I pulled out of the squirrel, 20Y shot hit under shoulder went through vitals, and stopped just under the fur of the opposite shoulder, identical to the last squirrel. Pure anchors.

You need like a 24/7 watch on those trees! If you were close I would definitely offer to post up with my ghillie suit poncho on hahaha.

Today I dreamed of shooting my 3622 that I haven't fixed yet, so it could provide a cooling breeze with every shot. 🥵😅

But seriously, stay safe out there with this heat wave y'all.
Ahh, just pop your breech o-ring out....half the air for your pellet, the other half for your face! 😎
You can also bring your target up closer as you just lost half of your fps, less walking to see group size! Mighty warm and windy here too😮‍💨

I nice plinking session with the R7. I can’t wait to see what it will do with JSB lead. I had a target with 1/2” bulls at 20y and a KYL spinner at 30 yards. So fun hitting the KYL at 30 yards with this little pea shooter. Only about 10 CPHP left. Barrel cleaning and JSB lead tomorrow.
