I don't have a photo, but his complaint was that it was packaged Amazon style, not Pyramyd Air style, and $7 more than he would have paid from Amazon.

I have been ordering GTO pellets from Trenier Airguns, Each tin is packaged in a bubble wrapped shipping envelope with layers of thick shipping paper covering every 3 tins, and bubble wrap on top of the whole order. very secure delivery process.

So I threw 4 tins of JSB’s in my cart and went to check out just to see what the deal is with shipping and here is what came up.



Usually, I select UPS three day ground. I imagine that the free shipping (if your purchase qualifies) is probably going to utilize Amazon shipping services.

I know it's been a couple of months on this, but I just heard that Pyramyd is now using Amazon drop ship for pellets. Someone on a server I'm on ordered from PA and came Amazon packed. When he called, got this:
I called Pyramid Air, and they said they have changed their entire shipping method and everything like pellets is dropped shipped from Amazon now.

Hi there, Amazon shipping is an option for our customers to use, but don't worry, it is not the only option. We still offer shipping through UPS, USPS, and FedEx (as seen in the screenshot below). We've recently added Amazon shipping to allow our customers a budget-friendly option where applicable.

Today I received the Ghost That I ordered from Airguns of Arizona, in that order I also received 7 tins of .25 pellets and 2 tins of JTS .22 pellets. Everything was bubble wrapped and placed in the outer box. All the pellets were fine except the two .22 tins. The box wasn’t damaged and the two tins were tightly wrapped - makes me believe they were damaged before being placed in the bubble wrap. I don’t say that flippantly, I owned Hobby Shops for years and shipped a lot of orders. They’re not as bad as some of the ones that I have received from Amazon. The best packing that I’ve seen were from an independent seller on Amazon (could’ve been AOA, I don’t remember. But the pellets were embedded in foam cutouts and wrapped in cardboard.

Bill if the pellets are damaged when you get the tins opened, call AoA and let them know. I’m sure they will make it right.

Also I think that it was likely PA that you received pellets from when you purchased them on Amazon.

When I asked them about needing a fill adapter for the Ghost, they told me that I did need one and without me asking they said they would send me one. You’re probably right about PA. The ones that were fulfilled by Amazon arrived in unpadded envelopes with no padding whatsoever. I wish Bass Pro would restock H&N pellets. I bought their remaining stock of .22 (4 tins) at Spanish Fort weeks ago and they have never restocked. The pellets were cheap and blister packed.

I filled cart just below free shipping with pellets, saw Amazon as an option. When I added more tins to reach 150 Amazon option disappeared and free shipping was standard ups shipping. So, looks like I can continue on with my normal system.

In my experience, Pyramyd Air is lapping the field when it comes packaging pellets for shipment, and has been for a long time.

And we all know what it looks like when pellet tins are tossed in a cardboard box, maybe with a token air pillow included. Dented (I'm being kind) tins, tins busted open with pellets all over the insides of the box, pellets with mangled skirts (and I mean inside the tins as well).

That said, at least one company has stepped up - Field Supply.
Just ordered 6 tins of pellets, and they were shrink wrapped together, then 360° double bubble wrapped, and then that bundle was fit into a box with all airgaps completely stuffed to make the bundle immobile. "Five Stars" from me.

There must be other companies that do it right. I'm guessing Trenier would, and I've never had trouble with Airguns of Arizona shipping.
I've heard horror stories about Midway USA though.

Should we get a little list going? I think it would be worth it just to save some of the community from the hassle and aggravation.

Utah Airguns shipped me a box of pellets and slugs that I received thus week. These were the most professionally packed pellets/slugs that I have seen. Yet, a few tins were still damaged. The external box was undamaged and I don’t see how these tins could have shifted inside the box. Sure makes me wonder.

That looks like they were that way before they were packed ! email them and they should make it right...
