I will probably eventually buy one to review, if I needed a benchrest gun id probably be more interested. A friend of mine has one he let me shoot and it seemed to be very accurate.

I’m going to wait until the new EVO slugger is released. My Epoch has a 700mn FX Superior .30 caliber 1:40 twist liner.

I am actually surprised they would make a slug barrel for the Epoch as I'd think it would hurt there sales on the new Evo platform, but good on them if they are making them for it!? The Canadian version ships with just one barrel instead of the 3.

The only way you would get the three barrel configuration is if some dealer has old stock.

The barrel assemblies are interchangeable between Epoch and EVO.

I shot my Skout .30 (that I won in the EBR 2023 raffle) this past weekend at the Airgun Oregon EFT GP and 100Y BR competition in Ashland, Oregon. The gun shot well enough to win the 100Y Pellet event and place 6th in the EFT GP event. I also was told by the Skout owner (Bill Gardner) that I had won a new EVO for my success with a Skout rifle at the event. Will probably get the .25 Slug 25-inch barrel version once they are available. The gun performed beautifully in both events, and I shot it all morning in the rain Saturday with no detrimental effect.
In fact, this photo was during the second 100Y qualification round (where I had high score), and AFTER I had shot the gun all morning in the rain and cold. If you're worried about the electronics, don't be.

How do you like Vortex scope? The extra magnification over the Theos and better price is intriguing.

I’ve had it for over 4 years now. The glass is as good as any scope I’ve had a chance to look through including the Element Theos or Nightforce ATAC-R. I really like the MOA reticle with 1/8 MOA clicks.
I usually shoot 100Y BR at 40x. The scope is SFP and calibrated at 40x.
Highly recommended.

Does the skout .30 caliber have out the box accuracy? Who makes the barrel and what's the twist rate?

Is that the barrel that shoots the 48 grain Corbin slugs? How's the accuracy?

I’d be very interested in a Skout compact rifle if they ever go down that path. It was a good fit in the market for AAA. Just saying.

I 2nd that. Very interested with these guns but a little too big for my needs at the moment. Prefer guns that are more streamlined and not bulky. Heard down the line they want to do a hunting version, I'd definitely be looking hard at that.

How does the new LW barrels shoot?

It is doing very well out to 50 yards which is where I have been using it. Have not tried slugs in it yet.

I have a .25 epoch with 25” barrel. Mostly satisfied so far. It is super accurate out to the 72 I have to shoot. Struggling a bit to get ES that compares to my fxs. Also feel it takes a bit more due diligence on my part to shoot well. However more accurate than I need so probably over thinking. Customer service was great out of the gate but have been ghosted on last two emails. Also no 30 cal in anything just has me wondering what’s going on over there.

The Epoch is (just) avaliable in Canada through AGS. To heavy and odd looking for me (mostly hunt with my air guns) but the evo is very interesting, they fixed alot of little issues it seems vs the Epoch. It was my second choice after my Ghost as my .22 Slug slinger. Price was about the same, guns seem VERY well designed and made with excellent customer support. The Ghost slug barrel should be here by summer? If I waited for the Evo it would be maybe in Canada by next year?

LOL, I stumbled on this thread read and danmans post from 2 years ago: “The Ghost slug barrel should be here by summer?” and wondered if @Danman has received his slug barrel yet?
