HAM Shooter
Another beautiful day in Rush, NY, Temperatures started out at 60 degrees and finished in the high 70s, for our 3 hr. match. Winds were light and variable in the 5 to 10 mph range. Greg and Pat Shirhall were waiting for me when I pulled in at 7:45, to set up the sight in range. We had a new shooter Aaron show up, who seemed to enjoy himself on our 32.7 Troyer course, I let him take some extra shots to get his windage and elevation, since he didn’t have a side wheel, but he had a smile every time he knocked down a target, as I cheered him on. I would say the toughest shot of the day was a 3/4 kill zone at 32 yards, with an expert (42.7) rating. We had one cold line for a rabbit that was locking up when it went down, we stuck a spring clamp on the bottom of the frame so it went part way down, which solved that problem. We did have a two way tie between Paul Manktelow and John Solpietro for 2nd place, and they even tied on standing and kneeling, so they both got 2nd.
All in all it was a nice day to be knocking down targets. Results are as follows.
