PCP New member of the AA Clan

The saga continues. As of today it’s on its way back to the dealer for “evaluation“.

I contacted AA’s factory across the pond. They said they ship the rifles without a Foster fitting installed on the brass fill adapter yet mine had a Foster fitting with significant ball bearing wear marks on it. They also glue on the moderators yet mine easily unscrews from the shroud. AA also confirmed that the fibers protruding inside the bore of the moderator would certainly affect the rifles accuracy yet the dealer said it wouldn’t??? Considering all the lead shavings I pulled out of a “new” barrel, prior to ever shooting it this all just doesn’t add up so hopefully this will all be resolved soon?

Yeah definitely sounds like someone had previously owned that gun before you did! If it was a great shooter I wouldn't be to concerned but that doesn't sound too good. I can verify as well on that foster fitting, mine did not come with one either and I got it this spring. It popped up as a recommendation to buy when I bought the gun... good thing I did or I wouldn't have been able to refill! (was new to pcps) Hope it turns out good for you as they are usually great out of the box guns!

What's the word on the S510 tactical Igolfat8?! They fess up and admitted it's been used?! Hoping it turns out to be a good gun yet. Or at least they send you one that isn't messed up.

I liked the AA rifle overall but a few quirks made me scratch my head like why does an OEM glue the barrel into the receiver. The mag indexing mechanics, though it seems to work fine, makes me wonder if it will be problematic down the road with wear? I think I will move on to another brand but I'm really undecided which one at this point. I'll probably set tight and be content with what I have for now.

Never a bad plan😅. That's definitely too bad but I wouldn't worry to much about the mag index issues. The guns chassis changes about every other year, new stocks etc but the mechanics of the S510 are solid, guns been around for a long time now. All the small parts that could get damaged are available to purchase and replace if ever required. The first thing that concerned me was that exposed spring under the trigger but it has been a non issue so far. The fact that the barrel is glued in solid to the receiver (heat required!) bothers me too as I'm sure some day I will be removing it. All in all though an absolute amazing gun though... (favorite of mine🥰)
