Gentlemen, ladies(I hope you are here too!), I was so disheartened by this shot today, I pulled my head off the lens, ended the recording, and had to literally scrub the stains out of the steps for ten minuites because it crash landed 10 yards from where I made the shot, onto the porch.

Welcome to, the what I am lovingly referring to as, the pop fly.

My most memorable one happened about 60 years ago.....took a shot with my trusty Crosman V350 at a bird in a tall Douglas fir. Was pretty sure I hit it but it flew away. Unfortunately, a neighbor kid saw me shoot, followed the bird's flight and saw it drop. He retrieved it and took it to my house and gave it to my mom!! Had a tough time explaining that one!!!

You hit him right as the back of the neck didn’t you? Right around the black collar?

Yassssss! Almost like you've hit there before too! These and fat pigeons feather so hard when they get hit there. On the upside, the breast meat, 👨‍🍳😘, when they're living off grain.
