Just recently joined and posted in another thread. I have a question about the Barra Sportsman single shot Dual caliper break barrel rifle. Since the only thing you change is the barrel, .177 or .22, What about air porting. I mean if the riffle is ported for .177, then the .22 would be under powered. If it is ported for the .22, then the .177 would be overpowered. If it was ported for in between the 2 calipers, then the .177 would be over powered and the .177 would be overpowered. Can someone explain how that works ? I mean if there was a switch or something to change the air port according to calliper but there isn't one.

Usually a little overported for. 177. But that gives the higher velocity a lot of people go for.

It has very good reviews. Pellet weigh can help balance the velocity difference between the two barrels. Seems to be a great value at $150.

I have one. I haven’t shot the .177 barrel yet, but I can assure you the .22 is not underpowered. It has very good power. I don’t think its hard to make a dual cal gun. Diana advertises the 34ems can we cal switched.

I'm certainly not arguing with what you say but logic tells me that, like you say .22 is not underpowered, that would mean that the .177 is way overpowered.. Especially since nothing changes other than the barrel size. Even if the porting is exactly between the two calipers , one of the calibers is going to be over powered and one undered powered. That is just logical to me. Maybe I'm missing something. One air pressure will have different effects on two different sized tubes.
