Received my Airgun Revisions modified and tuned .20 cal Prod on 1 Mar. I have only been able to mount a DonnyFL Ryu Moderator and test fired a few magazines due to high winds (25mph gusts with a consistent 8-10mph wind). Next step was to do a pellet test with JSB 15.89gr pellets.

I was curious about the higher average FPS than the chart Rich provided during his initial testing. I emailed him Saturday afternoon and he replied with-in an hour saying it was probably due to my altitude (my altitude 7126ft vs his altitude 1500ft). I am a bit surprised at the FPS increase due to altitude. He also noted the fifth shot was probably due to the SSG. The SSG will require a little break-in to smooth out. What really impressed me was his return email within 1 hour on a Saturday! I have really enjoyed working with Rich on this project.

Initial impressions are great. Fit and finish are very good. Tested trigger pull at an average of 1lb 4oz – smooth first stage, nice wall at second stage, and crisp trigger release. Overall, a very good trigger.

I have an Optisan CP3-12x32P scope that I will install tomorrow. Will try to do accuracy testing this week as the wind calms down. Tuesday and Wednesday look to be decent testing days.

Work done by AR:
Machined and Installed LW .20 Competition barrel (16”).
Machined bolt probe to .20 size from .22 size.
Two Carm mags supplied.
Airgun Revisions Custom SSG Hammer setup for regulated Marauder Pistol.
Huma Regulator set at 130bar (fill Prod to 3300psi – this is a safe maximum fill for the current configuration).
Custom transfer port size to equal tuning.
Set to run 15.9g @ greater than or equal to 700fps for 18+ shots (my initial requirement).
Replace old stock with current Manop/ Airgun Revisions Teak stock.
Custom carbon fiber shroud that also tension's barrel.
Custom 1/2-20 muzzle cap
5yr warranty with the gun with the exception of the Huma Reg or anything caused by the Huma reg.

Had a chance to check accuracy at 10yd today. Looks good. Wind came up as I tried to shoot at 30yd. It was 36* with steady 8-10mph wind with 22mph gusts. It wasn't the wind that got to me, it was the temperature. I was shaking so much I couldn't hold on target! See 10yd target below. The reason for a different number of shots per group is the 9 pellet Carm magazine. Will try at 30yd tomorrow, weather permitting.

Prod has a nice shot cycle and about a medium cocking effort. The Optisan scope balances well on the Prod.

I have been trying to test at 30yds but weather hasn’t cooperated. Got a break today to do a test at 30yds today. Wind at 3 to 5 mph and temp at 43*. Currently we have a blizzard warning starting at 6pm today so this was my best window! I was happy with the carbine but not with my ability. I’m convinced the Prod is capable of moa at 30yds under better conditions and a good shooter on the trigger. I have added some pictures of my range from a week ago and today to give you an idea of what I have been dealing with. Also, a picture of my final test today before I decided I would wait for better conditions to continue testing. The target was shot left to right 5-4-5-4 shots based on the 9 shot magazine. The two 5 shot groups show the potential of the Prod. It may be sometime in mid to late April before I get good conditions for additional testing. Also, plan on testing at 50yds once I have better conditions.

Overall, I am impressed with the quality and handling of Rich’s (Airgun Revisions) build. Also, the Carm magazines are butter smooth. Just wish I had better weather!

I was a lucky one to be able to see your PRod in person. I promise I did not fondle it . But I did admire it, it’s a beautiful piece of kit. I hope you get a lot of enjoyment out of that beautiful gun. I’m lucky to live just a little more than an hour away from Rich. When I need work done, I just drive my stuff to him. He definitely a cut above.

If I lived closer to Rich, I'd be broke! I am really impressed with his work. I am going to have him reseal my Mac1 LD in the near future.

I just bought an used AR custom Crosman Challenger HFT from a great guy online and it is amazing. I've been reading everything I can find about Rich and his work. I would agree he's fantastic at what he does. i agree, if I lived close to him, he'd be very busy!
If anyone has thoughts about buying one of his custom airguns, be assured you're getting the best!

 

[Airgun Revisions]

Recently done a 35yd accuracy test with both the Challenger and a Walther LG 400 FT.
Left is the Challenger and right is the LG. Both were comfortable in there own way. LG was heavier but because of the grip and hook it made it nicer to hold. Kinda the opposite with the Challenger, even though the frame isn’t as great the lighter weight more then made up for it. Adding a nicer grip, hook and cheek riser pad may send this gun to even new heights.

Myself and Crosman thought the same when the 3 position gun was under development. The decision was made further up the chain not to move forward with it. So I made the decision to bring it out though Airgun Revisions for the public.
