Today my eyes were opened up so to speak. I have an AEA 357 side lever rated at 340 fpe, at least mine is with 214gr but, at 150gr-3200psi this is max psi any more you start to lose fps,956 and 304 fpe. When you match that against my Texan .308 with 150gr 3300 psi 965fps = 310 fpe and max fpe 362.94 @ 3400 psi and adjust power wheel. both have heavy hammer springs, polished barrel and moderated. both shot with BARS boat tail slugs.

Out of my Texan .308 Carbine it loved my home cast 113gr .309 , it was shooting them at 870 very accurately, now I know that is not as powerful or as fast as your full length texan but that round is proven to shoot 400-500 yards, extremely accurately. I wonder how it would have done out of a full length texan.

The Texan line is quite impressive no matter what caliber. Sounds like your further in finding what your Texan is capable of then I am with mine. 400-500 yards is impressive with a regular length barrel but with a carbine that's shocking!

Not I who shot that but a member here and a friend of his (Mr Soper) who turned me onto that particular round.

That range really isn't wild if you think about it, a Texan Carbine has a 24" barrel, right around 620mm, a lot of .22/.25 caliber air rifles come with that length barrel that are capable of shooting that distance as well.

Hell, Ive shot 30.5 gr .22 at 75 FPE hitting a wiffle ball at 265 yards fairly easily through a not so great ATN 5-20 digi.

But there is wind and considering that most don't stretch out there pcp, I think it's great distance. Last year was my first time hitting a 12x12 target 400 yards and it was late fall in a open field with gusty winds. 400 pus yards. You should start a post to see how many have achieved the 400 plus mark.

There are always many variables, most of the guys stretching out that far are quite familiar and in tune with their setup, theres an entire FB group to 500+ , theres a local guy to me who stretches out every rifle he has 3-4-500 yards, his range is actually pretty neat. (Bill Lepage, of My Airgun Range on youtube)

My not that wild comment was basically said because the texans were really the first PCP to achieve great distances, being what I call a "dump gun" , they can really achieve the push to do such a thing.
