Like I said above I prefer my HW30 to my other springers, but I agree with @Hoppalong Doc and @Danman that if I were thinking about a HW95 today I would go with the HW97 over the HW95. I would also take a hard look at the HW98 versus the HW95.

My first adult airgun was a Beeman R9 (HW95) in .20 back in 2001. Love it but it was/is a little heavy so I bought a R7 (HW30) in .20.. About 2010 I bought a HW 50 in .177. Of the 3, the R7 (HW30) has been my go to springer. Actually, I haven't shot the R9 (HW95) in years.

I bought a Notos because of all of the hype and great price delivered to my door. I only smoothed out the trigger, no upgrades other than CARM magazines. I also have a Brocock Atomic that costs way more dollars. I understand why a person would modify the Notos if he/she was on a tight budget...

Interestingly Weihrauch still makes two .20 cal springers that are available from Krale. One is a version of the HW97k and the other is a version of the HW98. The HW98 is based on the HW95 (R9) with the addition of a shroud/barrel sleeve (no sound suppression) and an adjustable stock.
