Marauder Marauder Gen 3 first woodchuck

John, I'm retired now for several years & I spend most days at a dairy farm (s) just a mile & a half away. I took #60 (air) Ghog yesterday . Today was 30+mph winds , so I was weed eating fencerows for more 'hog visibility. I took along an old rimfire that I run suppressed and got two with it...

Marauder Marauder Gen 3 first woodchuck

John , thanks for testing it out on Ghogs! As soon as the CFO/CEO of this Castle agrees on a budget ( sounds familiar ,don't it?) I'll hit the send key on a .25 Gen3 myself. I figured it would be a Ghog slayer from the start.

    Ghost Slow first shot

I have experienced that in my Katran HP's . I need to waste the first trigger pull before loading the chamber . Usually this is after they set for several days. My other three do not seem to do so.

Simple PCP Improvements For The Diana Skyhawk

I have done most of what was discussed to most of my airguns. The only difference is I like much lower trigger weights just as with my firearms. Whatever works,, works! I do think all makes of the budget / entry guns could benefit from better triggers from the start. If your finger hurts after a...

    Chuck'n with the 'Z'

BB, I'm just starting on our woodchucks (Ghogs ) now that the new litters are above ground with the adults. I've scouted several locations & if the rain holds off ,I'll hit these couple areas tomorrow. That's some nice photos & your write up was great!

HAM Talks To Gen 3 Marauder Designer John Solpietro

I really want the .25 for another Pa Ghog gun. I sling my guns and use shooting bipods or tripods so the weight is no issue for me.

    Marauder Well it’s almost here

I may be right behind you ! That .25 would be a good companion for Ghog treks. Well ,as much trekking as I do!

    Now that's just showin' off ! ( and I like it !)

    Pellet or Slug for Squirrels

You will find either will work. Some pellets expand nicely and travel less afterwards or on missed shots , if that may be an issue.

A Close Look At The JTS AirStryke Carbine

I'm not much on open sights either, especially pesting small critters ( this would/will be a great barn gun). I can see just taking a hacksaw or sawzall to that back sight ( that IS mounted too close anyway) and doing away with it.

On Safari in Washington State for Giant Dairy Rats!

Zelos1, Good time for sure! Don't worry ,the population will recover fast enough. I'm currently at 56 rats from two different barns for '26. I managed an even dozen at the main barn some weeks back. That's a good haul for me anymore. When I was first asked to take out rats I would routinely...

Info Any wood chuck hunters here?

Just an observation , but I'm on my 5th 'Chuck so far. My first two were taken w/ my Stoeger Bullshark .22 slinging JTS 21+ gr Semi RN (FN) pellets at 40 & 35yrds. This is cranked up to 32+ ftlb.s. Head shot between eye & ear both DRT ,just tail flag & stiff stretch! I could get a few more lb.s...

    Who invited you Mr. Rattlesnake?

I must say , my Queen could NOT live there! I could get by having grown up with a camp in Northern Pa where Timber Rattlers abound. It does heighten your awareness.

    .177 or .22 for squirrels?

I do .22 for most everything also. Last year I got a couple .25's for Ghogs. I just can't handle those little .177 pellets!

Three Unlucky Starlings for the Pathfinder XR…

LL, I took my first starling Sat afternoon with my Katran Standard & Hades at 30yrds. I noticed they are starting to group up at the traditional nesting spots at the farm. I'll have to check the silage piles & bunkers now.

Six Shots, Five Starlings… Pathfinder XR

HA! The old "flew off just as I pulled the trigger " bit huh ! Been there done that !! Nice shooting LL. Keep that snow up your way, we have enough in "Happy Valley" ! I'm hoping to get out soon with my Katran Compact to bother some rats. I've left them alone for over a month now.

Does anyone keep a record of their airgun harvests aka hit list?

I've kept a list of Pa Ghogs since I started PCP gunning, then modified it to include .22 rimfire , RF mag & cntrfire just to keep a tally for the host farmer. After I was asked to work on rats I kept a separate list ,and of & what barn/farm they were taken in. I've never tracked the pigeons...

    New CCI airgun slugs

Whoa fellows ! There seems to be a whole lot of armchair quarterbacking going on ! This reminds me of a certain firearm years ago that no one bought ( except me) but yet most people trashed it for accuracy , build quality & general uselessness. I handloaded some ammo & shot some very good groups...

    .22 Norma 17.6 gr....going away?

As I had previously mentioned ,the Norma's 17.6 did quite well in my BSA R10. I scrolled back in my cell photos & found one that showed my first Ghog for '25. Taken w/ the R10 & Norma pellets at 37yrds on March 18. I'm a much better Ghog shooter than photo poster ,sorry.
