Definitely used a cleaning rod to pop out the pesky pellet.
I am pretty sure there’s a slight leak at the foster fitting as I placed a rubber cap (dust cover) over it and it popped off. So, o rings it shall be. Thanks again y’all!
Yes, the fix above helped. There was a pellet lodged halfway out of the magazine, but the probe/hammer/etc are back in working order. I do have a slow leak, so might need to replace o rings/tighten up some nuts (I de-gassed the rifle, as I do out of an abundance of caution when doing any...
Hi all,
Tonight while confirming zero/working on holdovers for grouse hunting tomorrow, my Evol’s probe stopped retracting fully. I inspected the probe and a small screw was loose in the chamber where the cocking arm/probe run. (Pictures attached)
I looked at the Receiver Assembly schematic on...
I have a “Safari” model. I picked that trim because it’s less prone to noticeable dings and gouges.
I am also lucky enough to have a wife who doesn’t ask how much my air rifles cost…
I do understand the cost burden. I traded in a few guns and got it on sale at AoA.
I would check the AoA...
For a solid, quiet, lightweight, reliable hunter with traditional beauty you can’t beat a Huntsman.
You could probably find a great deal on a gently used model. I carry one all day in the PNW woods when hunting grouse and hare. I use a safari-style sling (no sling studs…) and a short 0db...
Well, after a busy fall (even got some hunting in) and holiday season (with a new-to-me Evol 15!) the rain and snow starts.
No problem it’s an opportunity to get down to business with the P-3 leak. Conecrusher- you were correct, leaky seal, not regulator related. I have been topping off to...
I agree! They are solid, well-built, and IMO good-looking air guns. The USA market seems to value power, adjustability, and modularity.
The “set it and forget it” mid power pcps (HW 100/110, AA500/510, M-Rods) seem to have faded from the spotlight. Maybe the pendulum will swing back? Or maybe...
I traded my 110 carbine for a huntsman. I still have a tinge of regret about it.
I like the Daystate (and in my case it’s been a far more reliable gun), but I miss the way the 110 shouldered and that amazing trigger!
Congratulations on your new gun.
I got some H&N and GTOs this week and shot them our of my .25 RTI P-3 and my .22 Huntsman.
I’ve shot GTOs out of my .22 springers, but never looked at them as a potential hunting pellet.
I’m not surprised, but was holding out a little hope in the way they would shoot. I love my shotgun, but...
That’s how I would interpret it. The officer I spoke with did not share that opinion.
I don’t think I will risk $1k fine and loss of hunting privileges for 2 years based on how the WDFW feels like interpreting the situation that day.
I will still write to the WDFW to see if I can get a...
This is a great pivot! I am very excited to find a non-toxic pellet that will work in the areas where I will be expected to use them.
I am not anticipating any shots over 45 yards given the game (rabbit, grouse, grey squirrels, eurodoves) and the terrain I have scouted.
My current rifle...
Yeah, closest office is 24 extremely traffic filled miles from me. Not convenient unless I have an appointment and want to brave 60-90 minutes of driving. Glad I was able to get someone on the phone!
Thanks all for the replies-
I was able to get someone on the phone and, as I suspected the interpretation exceeds the regulations as written.
The WDFW rep said that lead pellets would likely be considered “toxic shot”, even though they are not ammunition for a “shotgun”. He seemed to be...
I’m jealous of that! I wish I could create more interpersonal connections with folks. I think living in a big city doesn’t help. Screens don’t help much either. Haha
I appreciate the replies. Thank you
Thanks for sharing this. I’m pretty clear on the regulations- as written. What I am unclear about is how the regulations are being interpreted and applied by enforcement. I think it’s important to be cautious as I don’t want to lose my ability to hunt and I want to make sure airguns and air...
