Last year I wanted to buy a .22cal rifle and was looking at the 28" barrelled Ghost and the Delta Wolf. The Delta Wolf was on for a good price so (against my better judgment) I ordered the Delta Wolf. Things did not go well from day one and the end result was that I was going to get a new replacement from the factory. There was no ETA on it's arrival and I had waited what I thought was too long so I asked Travis at AGS to give me the Ghost and make up the difference with some ammo. It arrived today and I'm a very happy man. I have some parts for the Delta Wolf that I hope will bolt right on and I'll be good to go after mounting a scope and tuning the rifle. I couldn't wait to test the velocity that it's set at so I checked the barrel to make sure it was free of obstructions and set up my chronograph. First test was with the 33gr H&N Precision slugs. Reg set to about 130bar.

Min - 732 fps
PW 5 - 822 fps
PW 10 - 880 fps
PW 15 922 fps
PW Max - 929 fps

JSB 25.34gr shallow skirt Redesigned

Min - 918 fps

I only tested the pellets at Min as this looks like it could be a good tune right out of the box and I need to top up the tank. I'm going to order better gauges as I find these ones hard to read. Here's a pic with it's .25cal older brother.

The data test sheet is from 2024 so I'm hoping this one has one of the barrels that shoots both pellets and slugs well.

Got the grip changed, barrel block and scope installed. I had ordered a race rail a while back and will set up one of these rifles for that scope also. A compact arca rail and new gauges should be here in a week or so. Hopefully I can get out this weekend to zero the scope and see what kind of groups I can get at 50 yards to give me an idea of what this one is like.

Nice setup! Not sure what your end goal is for ammo usage, but if mainly Mrds & running that 580cc bottle you should get tons of shots per fill.
If you ever pull the barrel, push a pellet through maybe and see if barrel is choked..... ill be watching your future posts closely! 👀🤓

Thanks. I did pull the barrel and give it a cleaning. It was incredibly dirty. When I finally got it clean I pushed through some pellets and had a weird experience. After the throat there is about 1/3 of the barrel that the caused the pellet to actually squeal as I pushed it through. Then it got really easy and then a small choke. I'm somewhat concerned that this might not be a good barrel, but time will tell if it is or not.

Pellet before cleaning. Scratch marks from the lands.

After cleaning, less marks.

Went out today to try some 25gr JSB Redesigned shallow skirt pellets and some H&N 33gr Precision slugs (.217). Started with the reg set where I got it around 140 bar and tested out the pellets. Pretty decent at 30 but opening up at 50. Then I decided to try the slugs and shot over 100 at various velocities/settings all the way up to 170 bar. Shoots them like a shotgun. I degassed the gun and started at 120 bar with the pellets again as I was done with the slugs. It appears as if this rifle likes to operate at a lower reg pressure for pellets. Power Wheel 5 was giving me a velocity at around 973fps with some decent accuracy. I'm going to degas it again and start at 110 bar and go up to 120 slowly to see if it improves. I put the data into Strelok and ranged a small rock at 80 yards. 5 shots in windy conditions with unsorted ammo.

I have two identical Ghost HP in .22 cal. I tried several different pellets, and both were the most accurate and consistent with the 25.39gr. JSB redesigned.
Both of these barrels shoot their best when kept clean. I polished both barrels with JB bore paste and use Ballistol for all my cleanings afterwards.
I also use the BRK 170mm silencer on both rifles, I also tried several other silencers as well as shooting them without a silencer and they both are the most accurate with the BRK 170mm silencer.

Thanks for the reply. Do both your Ghosts have the 28" barrel? I was thinking of trying the 25gr JSB KO slugs in .217 if I can source some out. Have you had any good results with these slugs or any others?

Both of my Ghosts have the 23in. barrels. I tried a 28in. slug barrel with several different slugs but could not get them to group that well and ended up sending it back.
The accuracy I am getting with the JSB 23.39gr. shallow in the 23in. is so good I guess they have spoiled me.
I am still waiting on a SUB MOA barrel to come in to try it out but in the meantime, I am very satisfied with what I have.

I just contacted AoA and asked to get on a list for the SubMoa barrel again, they said it would be a long wait, Sept/Oct. I was told June/July four months ago. No list to get on, so it might really be a long, long while. Funny how there are Black Wolf barrels but not Ghost barrels as there are more of them. I don’t count the uncoated .30 barrel.

I have been on the waiting list since May of last year for a .22 cal. SUB MOA barrel and so like you said, it's a long long wait.
