Hey, I'm recently new to the pcp world. Lurked on forums, did my research and got myself a talon p carbine kit. After about a year and a half I noticed a chunk of lead exiting one of the end ports. Before that I discovered what appeared to be not a full-on baffle strike but a fragment glanced off. Did I do anything wrong, I guess is my question?

A baffle strike can occur if the rifle was double loaded. That happens to the best of us.

There can be pellet flash stuck in pellet skirts. That can become dislodged and trapped in the baffles.

How is your accuracy? If your rifle is consistent and accurate, you are probable fine.

Accuracy kinda wained but after cleaning the rifling out it's returned. I'll have to pay closer attention loading, it did appear to be a skirt. Thank you for the response.

We have seen a "chunk" of lead get stuck in the rifling and works its way from the chamber end to the muzzle as you keep shooting. The closer to the crown you get the worse the accuracy. A pellet can be damaged by this and fly erratically. Once the debris is cleared, it shoots good.

If cleaning brought the accuracy back, I would assume it was something like this and not a barrel problem.

Barrels also get lead build up naturally by shooting them. This can also cause accuracy issues. Not sure I have had a dirty barrel cause clipping though.
