New to the amazing advancements in air guns. Grew up in PA with Crossman pellet/BB guns. Hunted Iguanas with a GAMO break barrel last year and an FX PCP this year. Looking to learn more and find a good cost effective entry rifle for pests and a pellet pistol for dispatching pythons caught by hand. Any thoughts on a small inexpensive air pistol that would be able to handle that task? Thanks

Are you looking for a PCP, Powerlet gun or a springer?
I think something using CO2 in case it would require multiple shots. It would need to be something that I could operate one handed as my other hand would be busy holding the invasive pest to not get bitten. I don't yet have a way to fill a PCP yet and am trying to keep the budget down on my first pistol. Thank you.

I think it is kind if risky holding a python and trying to kill it with a 1 shot pellet gun but I am not the one that is holding it or experienced in doing it. I dont know of any pistols out there that are multi shot. Hopefully a others will chime in. I would like to move you away from the powerlets as the shot count isnt there as good as with a PCP but the price will definitely be less expensive.

I currently use a learher stitching awl on a small straight slot screw driver with a sharpened edge currently. Love cleaning up Iguanas with air rifles. Looking for something small that would work for this. I was looking at the Gamo P-430 Dual Ammo Pistol. It holds 16 in the magazine, but you only get 8 from one end before you need to flip the mag to get the other 8. Was hoping someone had some experience with it to tell if it is up to the task. I would prefer not to anger/injure the snake and not sure a CO2 pistol in .177 Cal at 495 fps will do the job quickly/cleanly.

Welcome to the party. Also I am in FL!
Hello, Are you an individual or with a company? Have you found a reliable source for air gun in Florida? I am in the Palm Bay area, but try to get down to the everglades bi monthly to look for pythons. If I could figure out where I can go to hunt iguanas I would go more often...it is a long drive and iguanas would provide more opportunities. Do you do any air gun hunting. I would be happy to talk to someone else passionate about Florida and air guns. Sincerely, Ralph
