Hello all,
I have been tracking the developments on this bill. As I am traveling out of the country until next week, my response here will be very limited. Do not take that to mean that the industry ( and the ASA) is ignoring this issue. My quick comment is that not much will happen until...
NateChrony,
The Standard dose not dictate the alloy of the slug. All it is say is if you call it a Lead Airgun Slug it need to me 98% lead. If it is less than that it is "Hard Cast" If the Airgun Slug in made from Hard lead or alternative material it will called out on the packaging, and...
Pumacarl,
The Micro size requirement is handled by the "Match Grade Sizing" in the standard. It is defined as “a precision Airgun slug refinement of a projectile’s outer diameter to within a restricted tolerance of +/- 0.001 Inch (0.0254mm)”. If the slug is claiming Match Grade Sizing (MGS)...
Roamin,
The BB is has been defined in the standard since is was first published in 1978.
The "Foster style" quick disconnect is not in the standard. This topic has come up in the past, the non-powered gun committee has no representation from the industrial pneumatic fitting industry.
FYI - I only did one quick photo that did give me a different score than Eley. I didn't tray and track down the difference as I was just wanted to analyze the group.
I just saw the guy over at Thomas Air post this target software he is testing out. TargetIQ
I just did a quick test and it will score the Eley X targets. This is just a FYI, I am not suggesting we change anything.
One of the cool feature it has it will take all 25 shots and put it into one...
First off thanks to Bill M for getting this going! This is exactly what I need to do to figure out my Bench rest game.

John and I were talking about doing the same thing. That would be a good way practice FT. If there are other interested, maybe that could be a different division

"Asking questions: Maybe it would be are we better off being regulated like firearms are?"
Strongly disagree.
"The real thing is to figure out how to promote more local comps, that feed up to regional comps, that feed up to the nation comps. That's how you grow the sport and...
Wahytoomany,

GHairgunner,
Thanks for the questions, I'd rather you ask them than just walk away.
On the NRA point: they don't have much skin in airguns. During the NY ban this year, the NRA's response was a press release saying they'd file an amicus brief with the Supreme Court. That was it. ASA hired a...
Playingdead,
No worries on the delay, appreciate you circling back.
One of the things we're working on is expanding both benchrest and PRS. How far are you from Anniston, AL and Talladega? There's a possibility of a 100 yard event there in the spring.
We're looking at ways to expand the...
Sounds good, I agree keep it short , I could see four cards in 7-10 days. That should take only two hours total in time, and we spread it over one to two weeks. A poll is a good idea.
One more question on the rules.
What is the timing or cadence on this six card practice run? Is it one card per week? Can I shoot ahead if I am out of town? I see the deadline set for the match is Dec 20th.
What should we do for the next one? How about six cards, two - three cards per...
One more rule to talk about, Tie-break.
How about
"Total X-count first, then count of 10s, 9s, 8s, etc. in descending order until a winner is determined"
