Day Three:
I love this rifle, It just keeps getting better.
Nill wind today, so good range time.
Couple groups at 25yds. Then a couple at 50yds.
Bad part was no bipod, so hard to be steady on a bag. However, I still managed a couple of nice groups. Not sure whether to zero with the JTS Pellets...
Just a quick review.
The other day I tried out some Crow Magnums at 50yds. There was a bit of wind, maybe 7mph.
All rounds yawed. Today I tried them again at 25yds. Wind today was about 15mph. With a bit more gusts. Again they yawed, but all other pellet types flew straight at both distances...
So my regular 6" Harris bipods are to tall.
I just tried a cheap CV Life pod and it is a pain to mount and unmount, also the head rotates every direction and is a pain to lock it down.
I did like that the legs could be set at an angle to get the rifle lower.
Anyway, I need a recommendation...
Got the moderator but have not tried it yet.
Have only shot at the noisy rifle range so far.
I plan to go to my mother-in-laws this weekend to try the moderator.
My local TS shows 1 tin in stock, I'll go pick it up.
Thanks
Range day two, 50yds.
Had a bit of wind today so nothing great as far as groups. The JTS did the best and most consistent. The H&N Crow Magnums did bad.
They lost stability and started entering the target sidways. Also the H&N Beracudas look like some where loosing stability. I'm wondering if...
Installed a cantilever scope mount, bipod mount and baffles. Also finished my Pellet trap a few minutes ago. Filled with old jeans and backed by a self sealing cutting board for easy pellet retreavel. I can either replace the cardboard insert or hang a paper target with the mounted clip. Ignore...
Well,
I remounted the scope in a CV Life cantilever mount. Much better. Scope is a Mueller 4.5-14x40 AO
Installed a mount and Bipod. Installed some baffles off fleabay.
Next, adjust trigger play and find a spot to drill the butt stock for a sling stud.
Oh ya, order more pellets!
