The “IWA Show” is the largest airgun show in the world. There’s a huge number of companies exhibiting. So what was it like at IWA OutdoorClassics 2024?
But first I need to apologize. This coverage should have started a week ago. However I was knocked-out by some sort of nasty virus and have been out-of-action since. Oh well, better late than never…
After the dust settled, the IWA OutdoorClassics 2024 organizers announced that around 40,000 visitors from 120 countries had attended the four-day show. That’s a 15% increase over last year.
Out of the 1,072 exhibitors, many of them were involved with airguns and associated products. I had a personal “must see” list of over 60 companies and that was far from all the airgun exhibitors at the show!
Below, this is a view over just one of the exhibition halls – Hall 3C. It’s not even the largest!

So let’s take a look around IWA OutdoorClassics 2024. I hope that this will give you a feeling for what it’s like to attend this annual show.
IWA OutdoorClassics takes place every year at the “Nuremberg Messe“. This is a world-class exhibition facility in Germany. The halls in use for this years show are shown colored in this plan below. (The other halls are used for even bigger shows hosted at the venue).

Below we have an overhead view of the other half of Hall 3C.

IWA OutdoorClassics is a trade show. You have to be a member of the shooting/outdoor sports industry to gain admittance. But there’s a combination of booths from companies that are very familiar – like Gamo…

… and Hatsan.

Then there’s companies that do not have a recognized “end user” brand. These are “OEM manufacturers” selling their products to well-known brands to be market under another name.
For example, do not be put off by the relatively insignificant booth of SnowPeak airguns. This is the world’s largest airgun manufacturer!

Here we see our friends from Leapers.

Below is the booth for AEA Precision Airguns and Karma Airguns.

Next we see Weihrauch. The company was celebrating 125 years in business at the show. That’s an incredible success story for this family-owned (and run) German manufacturer.

Below we see Nova Vista. This is a Chinese OEM manufacturer with a close tie to Air Venturi. You can see the Avenge-X models on the right side of the display.

The Eastern European companies are here also, of course. For example, below we have Epic Airguns.

And if you wonder where all these low-cost PCP compressors come from, “New Warrior” is one of the small number of companies that specializes in this market.

So that’s a quick look around IWA OutdoorClassics 2024. Next we will take a closer look at some of the many new products to be seen at the show…
