As time passes Airguns are becoming more popular amongst hunters. Ammo is cheap and plentiful. Most are backyard friendly or can be made so with the use of a moderator.
More and more States are legalizing the use of air powered tools for use in hunting small medium & large game. Airguns can also be used where firearms are not permitted.

We all have a favorite game animal and or season we look forward to each year. What's yours? What is your go to Air rifle to get the job done?

Took this picture half an hour ago, just between my property and the neighbors. No season for starlings, shoot em mostly in spring to fall. Either of my two pcps. Very wary birds, you get 1 chance only 99% of the time, no moderators allowed here which doesn't help.🤨

I started squirrel hunting 25 years ago with a Beeman R1 .20cal and I was hooked on how quiet it was compared to a 22 rifle or a 20 gauge shotgun that I had used for years. Then I bought an FX-2000 with a mod and was really hooked and never went back to using anything else squirrel hunting. Before that, I thought squirrel hunting was boring, especially with a shotgun.

I know right? With airguns we don't get a broken tooth from a load of buckshot when eating our taken game. My shotgun doesn't get much use at all anymore for hunting and it just sits in the corner for home protection. Lately I've been hunting squirrels and rabbits with my Macavity Arms 22 sniper long as my first choice and my Dar gen 3 22 as second choice. Don't get me wrong i still love my highly modified Notos 22 with FX barrel kit. Just switching it up for now while i enjoy these other two for awhile! Lol

Great pics. Pest birds are alot of fun. Target rich environments

Springers are alot of fun to hunt with very challenging. Hw and older Beemans are some of the best out there.

Airguns have become the go to for alot of hunters, and more everyday.

I'll jump at the first chance of HOSPs pestering our 4 over-wintering Bluebirds. Already took one out last week at the feeder that was bossing other birds. Then the attention will be given to the starlings at the bunker silos at the dairy. I don't shoot into the feed , I let them perch on the wall then I can take them from the side shooting off stacked round balers in the covered storage area. After a few get popped they hesitate hopping down in and look for a few seconds giving standing targets.

Deer season. Not a favorite animal, but I like to eat them. I only have a few pieces left of the last deer I shot.

Starlings have become my favorite target. They need to be shot, even birders want them dead, and they are challenging targets that are easy to dispose of. It's a win for everybody, except the Starlings, ...good!

The killing(it ain't hunting) that I am not looking forward to, and hate doing, are the porcupines. I don't see a way around it, because of the dog, but I don't take any pleasure in it at all. There seems to be so many of them lately too. The .30 Pardigm has been perfect for this task, and makes a lousy job easier anyway.
