What is your TX200, 177's favorite pellet say out to 55 yards for Field Target?

I use my TX200 for FT and use AA or JSB 8.4gr pellets. My TX200 is a 12fpe rifle.

I bought mine from a world class shooter who tuned it to AA 10.34Gr and AA 8,44Gr.
While I am nowhere near his stature I can tell you until it got too cold the TX200 was a tack hammer at 25 yards and I look forward to shooting at 50 yards this spring and maybe entering a competition.

If I may add a question also ...what about head size of said pellets? While shopping on AGS here, I saw the Jsb 8.44 were available in 4.50, 4.51, 4.52, and 4.53!! My TX full power, all stock has been shooting the 4.51 and 4.52 very well. I was surprised at 30 yards the 10.34 dropped about 2 inches low and left. They did group decently though. Crosman premiers were not great at all.

????... It's funny got h&n like that in the 3 or 4 head sizes , but sorting them out the head sizes were pretty all close to the same mixed variety in each tin on average . I was like then why advertise them as this or that when it seemed just dump them in one tin as is ..lol.

Anyway funny again the 4.51 did seem to shoot better doing this range but say the other did better shooting at that ranges .. even if I us d pellets out of the same sized pile ..

Well tomorrow I will get it out and try different pellets...I finished the LP Custom stock natural and am working with Eric at Scopewerks on a wheel. It did shoot the H&N 10.65 pretty good at EBR, but I want to try different pellets to see....I have never shot FT with a springer so it will be interesting to say the least.

Can't say no experience at that distance, nor usage with the TX200 at this time. Been shooting out to 50 feet match's with Diana 36 Vortek kit, and a HW 30.

I typically shoot 4.52 AA/JSB 8.44 grain pellets out of mine. If you go measure the head size you will see they are all over the place. Never took the time to sort enough of each head size to figure out which head size shot best. Though I do believe head size makes a difference, I just shoot them.

Mine seems to favor 8.44 JSBs. Knocks the paddle down at 55

Well I shot 5 different pellets and my rifle favored the rangemaster 10.3’s at 775 FPS then the H&H 10.65’s at about the same speed. A friend has a lot of FT targets and using Strelok I was able to hit most the distance's. When the wheel comes in, is when the work will begin.

Just for you buddy ... shot some of my brother's left over rws super mag 9.0 grainers. Nice looking pellets but oh boy were they terrible out of my TX!? Not sure whats up with the paper tear pattern also (these are wad cutters)?!? Comin in a little sideways maybe?! Ignoring the top 4, that was my group @ 32 yards. Pretty bad The 2 close to the bull was me switching back to the AA 8.44 gr. Also a nicer hole punch again....hmm.

For me it's H&N Barracuda 8s. Or Air Arms Field / QYS domed. All shoot well.

So I took "Norma Jean" (Hey she's blonde and has a beauty mark on her cheek) to the Crusty Critter shoot on Tuesday and shot her off of bucket and sticks....Man did I suck!!!! I just got the ranging wheel late Monday night and put it on, but haven't set it up with ranging marks and hold overs.

The guys I was shooting with, would just tell me what they ranged the targets at and I would plug it into Stelok....After the first 6 lanes I went back to the sight in area for a few shots and adjusted my scope. This helped a little, but after each shot my reticle was on the left side of the KZ.

Mark (A TX200 shooter himself) he and I were talking about how I was shooting and then after telling him my reticle was always on the left of the KZ after shooting, he really looked at my position. It appeared my shoulder was pushing the stock to the right making the front of the rifle move left during recoil.

So the last 4 lanes I really concentrated on being square to the target and I went 4-3-4-4 on my last lanes.....I sure wish we would have figured it out earlier.

Next week I will get Norma Jean all dialed in with the wheel and holdover and see how I do next time.

Started working on Norma Jean today....After taking her apart and relubing she is back together and sighted in at 27 yards....Started working on distances and of course the wind came up so either tonight or tomorrow morning I will be back at it......Strelok is pretty close so far from 10-13, but off at 14....I used Strelok for a 55 yard shot on my targets and it was right on.

Now if the wind would just settle down

Yesterday I got the wheel all done.....I have 1 week until the Sonoran Classic to get some practice in....No pressure it's just a 2 day competition with folks from all over the US competing....What can go wrong

Just go and enjoy it. Good luck .

My first experience of a competition, I hardly spoke the local language, literally had no idea.
Scored badly, nervous etc.
Second day, doubled my bad score.

Long story short, got friends from all over the world, met some great people and visited a few nice places. Gained knowledge, all sorts of information etc simply by attending a FT competition.

Go and enjoy.
