Bolt Action THOR my new Bushbuck Carbine

Went down to AoA yesterday and Kip instructed me while I worked on my Bushbuck. Under his watchful eye "we" took the rifle apart, resealed everything, and tuned it for the High Arc Hunter 365 slugs. This rifle is sending 2 slugs downrange on high power. 1st 775 FPS and the 2nd 725 FPS......That's over 480 FPE out of Thor. For 's and grins we grabbed a 480 grain slug and Thor sent that at 707 FPS for 532 FPE.

Thor is wearing an Athlon Ares ETR and I hope to get a chance to sight it in on Friday.

I am ready for Thor to hammer some piggies on our hunt.

So took Thor out to Rio today and got it all sighted in at 50 yards. After getting on target at 50 I was able to shoot this 3 shot group. First 2 shots same hole, but 3rd got away.

Then I dialed in 110 yards into Strelok to shoot the metal small ram out there. There are 4 shots in the group above the silver dollar.

I’m thinking Thor is pig/deer worthy.

You've made that into a fine shooter right there! With all of the 3D printer folks doing things for airguns is there a gravity-fed three-shot magazine available for them? If not, it looks like one could easily be made that mount's in that breech well.

You've got Thor sighted in nicely. Deer and pigs beware!

Prove me wrong but...bushbucks are one of the best looking big bore airguns out there!.... plenty accurate too

They do look nice. I was thinking about setting it up as a bush pig, but probably won’t. The stock is nice and comfortable.

Boys and I just got back from hunting in Texas. Thor was only taken out once and that was the last morning of the hunt. Thor is still a virgin

I was in the stand with my son Daniel and I let him take the deer that morning. We had a great hunt!!!!!

Don’t feel bad. My Bushbuck is still a virgin as well! And now I’m waiting on its smaller Bush Pig brother to come in. Hopefully I’ll fix that on an upcoming trip to South Georgia. These are some serious guns! How was Kip? If love to have a conversation with him to help dial in these to their full potential.

I imagine so! I’ve watched quite a few of his hunts with the Bushbuck. His videos were what swayed me to get one instead of a Texan.
